Travel through the beautiful Bavarian countryside, with its mountains and villages, in a modern, air-conditioned coach to two of King Ludwig II's famous royal castles, the family castle of Hohenschwangau and the fairytale castle of Neuschwanstein. These magnificent buildings, now UNESCO World Heritage Sites, can be visited on a guided tour in English (entrance fees not included). Accompanied by a professional English-speaking tour guide, this day will be an unforgettable experience where you don't have to worry about anything. You will also have free time between the optional castle tours to go to a restaurant, buy souvenirs, and visit the famous Marien bridge (weather permitting).

Itinerary
We’ll meet at 8:45 a.m. at Sonnenstrasse 1, 80331 Munich. There you’ll find a tour bus marked “Mentor Reisen,” and our friendly driver and guide will welcome you as you check in. We’ll depart at 9:15 a.m. and drive past several Munich landmarks (which the guide will explain) on our way to the first stopp Hohenschwangau.
First, you can take a guided tour of Hohenschwangau Castle (additional fee depending on the option). Built in the 12th century, the castle was purchased by King Ludwig II’s family in 1832 and rebuilt in the Neo-Gothic style. It served as the royal family’s summer and hunting residence.

The Marienbridge can be visited, from which you have a great view at Neuschwanstein Castle. In winter, the bridge is usually closed for safety reasons.
This lake is located right next to Hohenschwangau Castle. You can visit him in the free available time. Also suitable for bathing in summer.

Elof was a fantastic tour guide. He was incredibly informative about which pathways and routes to the castles are the best to take, and in pointing out little tips and vantage points for fantastic photos. His humour made the trip really enjoyable, especially his dry humour around the history of the two castles. Overall, the entire trip was very good and worth it if you are visiting Munich!

Elof was our guide and he was amazing. He knows exactly what he is doing and even had a recommended schedule for us, which was spot on. We were a family of eight, including an infant, and the entire Neuschwanstein experience was very well organised from start to finish. Our guide, Marleen, was definitely one of the highlights. Knowledgeable, warm and genuinely humorous, she brought the stories and history to life without making it feel like a history lesson. But when it came to timings, there was no negotiation! She kept everyone on schedule, and honestly, that's probably why the whole day ran so smoothly. Joachim, our driver, was equally wonderful. Friendly, professional and made the journey comfortable, especially the relaxing drive back after a long day. The only thing that wasn't on our side was the weather. It was surprisingly hot, particularly with an infant, but that's obviously something nobody can control. Everything else was excellent. Beautiful scenery, an incredible castle, plenty of laughs and a very well managed day. Marleen and Joachim made the experience even more memorable for our family. Highly recommended. And one piece of advice... if Marleen gives you a meeting time, don't test her! 😂👏

Visiting time for both castles were way too strict. The visit was still worth it. It's probably more enjoyable during other months. Marleen was the guide, very good preparation. Joachim was the driver, smooth travel, nothing to say.

Really great experience, Marleen the guide was so lovely and the driver did a great job of driving slowly when Marleen pointed something out on the journey. The palace and castle were absolutely incredible to see. Having all of the transport sorted for you made the day super easy - I would definitely recommend this trip!
