Cartagena Fishing & Crabbing • Unique Local Experience with Lunch

This was the best activity we did in Cartagena. The entire team were absolutely amazing from our translator Andres and the captain. The simplistic beauty tranquility of the mangroves cannot be described this is a must do excursion to get away from the hustle and bustle of daily life . Captain shows us how to cast a net and we also baited the crab traps and got crab a well! We chose the option to cook the crabs which was epic as well . Fried fish for lunch is a must try !!! Lastly a massive shout-out to Michael who was just incredible in communication via whatsaap which made the pre experience even that better ! Highly highly recommend this to everyone in Cartagena

Great tour for those that are looking for something unique! We arranged for pickup from our hotel and English speaking interpreter. John was amazing! He drove us to the Ciénega de la Virgen lagoon safely and shared lots of history and information along the way. Our canoe captain was a local fisherman from the area and expertly navigated us through the mangroves. He showed us how to fish with a net and how to catch the crabs. Be prepared to see many birds and some wildlife. We opted out of the small island tour as it was a hot morning and we were on a timeline that we had set for ourselves. The lunch was rustic fried fish, coconut rice and fried plantains. Definitely get the crab lunch if you love the freshest possible, you caught it yourself crab! Deliciously prepared at the Restaurante estadero el Nato, Mossimo is a wonderful host! We enjoyed this excursion immensely! A great half day outing!

Great experience for the whole family. 7 and 9 year old kids has a great time, especially when the friendly wildlife showed up to steal our bait! Pablo and Andres were great guides, fried fish lunch was crisp and delicious, can't recommend this experience enough.

We had great time during this tour, we started at 6.30 am to avoid sun and it was the right decision, we caches a lot of fish and crabs, and we let them go. Lunch was also ok. Thanks to John for all his tips during the tour and also for driving g so safely.

We had the most delightful day with John as our guide and Tomas as our Boquilla fishermen. The friendly raccoon visit, the teaching of net casting, the crab trapping, and the wonderful lunch was such a unique experience. Highly recommend for anyone wanting something a bit different than the typical tourism spot.

This was really a very unique trip John, our guide, was absolutely fantastic and stayed with us through every aspect of this excursion. We were picked up and had private transport in an air conditioned car. It was about 45 minutes to the destination and we drove through many kinds of neighborhoods, some on the sketchier side, but all was well. We arrived at La Boquilla beach and had a short walk to the canoe area. It was beautiful and peaceful going through the mangroves. We stopped and caught crabs and learned how to throw a cast net. They cooked the crabs we bought as well as provided a super delicious fish dinner. While this might not be for everyone, we loved it!!!

It was an excellent way to see a different part of Cartagena. Off the beaten path! Guides were friendly!

We loved this tour we had a great time with John we saw another side of Cartagena and met some lovely people We loved the crabbing experience was great fun the captain of our canoe also showed us how to fish local style and we saw so many birds in the mangroves We then had lunch and had our crabs cooked for us for an extra fee Food was great John was great very informative and loved seeing the mangroves and locals beach Would recommend this tour if you like something different to do in Cartagena

A very unique and different tour than you will find when compared to other offerings in Cartagena. Picked up from hotel we were staying at right on time and our driver and English translator John was a very good driver and had a lot of information regarding Cartagena. Water shoes are advisable when you start fishing and using the crab traps. Our fisherman Louis was very patient with our kids on teaching them how to cast the net correctly and also allowed us to participate as much as we wanted to in all the activities. Definitely recommend doing this tour if you looking for a fun half day activity.

This was my favorite tour and was such a special experience! Our guide Elias made us feel like we were fishing with an uncle. My seven year old daughter loves nature and enjoyed every part of the experience.
