Capricorn Caves Cathedral Cave Tour

This is not an experience words can describe its a MUST see for yourself . We will be going back often.

Was great. The cathedral cave didn’t disappoint and the tour guide Liz was awesome.

Did the 45min Cathedral Cave tour. Was well narrated by Jai. I recommend wearing closed in shoes (not a necessity for this tour) as ground can be slippery from dirt and snakes are also around. The acoustics in the cave are awe inspiring. Options are available for how you get around the cave system and exiting with a slightly adventurous way out or a more sedate. Available to all ages and most abilities.

Great tour if short on time. Tour guide very informative. We stayed at the van park overnight after a long travel day and needing to leave straight after the tour. Nice park well set out. Good amenities. Could benefit from additions to camp kitchen like microwave toaster kettle. Free wifi great for kids as not much else to do there.

After we had slept wonderfully in one of the 5 fantastic cabins of Capricorn Caves, we had the 9 o'clock Cathedral tour. The cave was not super spectacular, few or no stalactites, but it was worth it. We mainly had this stay and tour because it was a good stopover between Airlie Beach and Hervey Bay. No regrets, slept wonderfully and the tour was a nice way to start the day. The (Dutch) guide was fun, lots of information. The Hallelujah in the dark cave sounded beautiful! The narrow passage at the end is nice too. Thanks a lot, nice experience!! There was a snake next to the path at the exit, but the guide warned us. Thanks!

Absolutely loved visiting Capricorn Caves! Our guide Jordy was knowledgeable, friendly and made the whole experience really enjoyable. The scenery around the caves was beautiful too. Definitely worth a visit if you’re travelling through Central Queensland — highly recommend!

My husband and I were short on time so took the 45-minute Cathedral Cave Tour. We’ve been to Waitomo Caves in NZ so had high expectations and Capricorn Caves didn’t disappoint. Being dry caves, this was a different experience, but no less interesting or atmospheric. If we find ourselves in Rockhampton again, we’d love to do the 2-hour Capricorn Adventurer. A great place to visit and perfect for families.

Good experience worth going to see it, experience how dark it is when no light

Small caves but very evocative! Our guide was really good and the staff in general is very kind and helpful. The caves are located in a beautiful position and the road to reach them is wonderful.

Loved this tour! Beautiful place and amazing caves. Only knew about it because I saw it on a map when I was planning my big trip and was intrigued. Sadly, their campgrounds are only open during school holidays but there was parking available for cars with caravans attached. You can stay onsite in cabins if desired. Beautiful, peaceful spot. Road in was easy to navigate. Free wifi available onsite (handy if you need to check road conditions/make campsite accomodations). The big tour only goes once a day at 0930 and I was disappointed to miss it (having driven in from Proserpine) but the Cathedral tour goes on the hour and is great too. The staff were friendly and helpful, I loved the educational displays. It would be a good spot to visit for a Home schooling outing as well. Our guide was a young man who took extra effort to ensure everyone understood him and answered all our questions (even the ones about things he had already spoken about). His presentation manner was excellent. The caves are awe inspiring! The accoustics of the cathedral are sublime and what an experience it is to listen to music in it. They turn the lights fully off and it is properly dark for a few minutes (gave me a chance to wipe my tears from hearing the beautiful music in such a wonderful place). All in all, Im very glad I made the effort to see it.
