Capodimonte Museum in Naples

Horrible, I arrived at 8:30 for museum and still had no QR code. They offered to pay me admission. I only came in because I showed proof of payment. The employee was friendly and let me in without a ticket. On the same day at 23:00 they finally sent me such a ticket with QR code! Arrived from company Viator ?? I didn't understand what was going on.

Make your reservations directly from the original website to save money. This museum is the one I liked the most in Naples: there is really so much to see if you are an art enthusiast and more. You can spend the entire day between the museum structure and the immense 134-hectare park that surrounds the building where you also find places for picnics, fountains, and benches. Being outside the center of Naples it is not very crowded but I am writing this review precisely because this place deserves to be visited. It is easy to reach by bus which, from the center of Naples, drops you off near the entrance of Capodimonte.

I am sorry, but I was a bit disappointed by this museum, perhaps because when I visited, some parts were closed for maintenance. There are certainly beautiful works, and the museum is very large. The monographic exhibition of Nicola Samorí was spectacular and memorable.

We went through aviator to buy the tickets. We paid 50% more than the official rate, while there was no one at the checkouts. Probably the price of serenity. However, I only received the tickets after calling twice, I had only received the vouchers before that, which were not accepted.

A huge collection of paintings of any time from 1200 onwards. Great names ( Tiziano, Botticelli, Masaccio...) but look at the paintings, not only at the author's name! Don't say "Botticelli painted this, therefore it is beautiful", or "therefore I like it". Botticelli 'Madonna is an absolute beauty, but many other paintings are as beautiful as that. My favourite is Guido Reni's Ippomene and Atalanta! Consider at least 3 hours for the visit. There is car parking along the road or a bus from the centre

I associate myself with the many negative comments since on Sundays and moreover under the holidays is closed an entire floor of the museum, with unchanged price!!! shameful situation that spoils the visit of the complex .... ditto as regards the many works loaned that impoverish the visit ... always at full price that is not little for what remains to be seen
