We will be hiking up Lions Head, Cape Town's most Instragram'able hike. We plan to either catch the sunset over the Atlantic Ocean or sunrise from the Hottentots Holland mountains. We enjoy some amazing photo opportunities before our descent. During a sunset hike, we descend in the dark using our flashlights (provided). During a sunrise hike, we may hike the first part in the dark using our flashlights (provided). While the hike is regarded as easier than Table Mountain, it still involves steep rocky and narrow terrain at certain points from about half up way and a section where the use of steel handles and chains need to be used to get up 2 pitches of about 3 meters each (only up and not down). Quite adventurous indeed. This hike has been an age old tradition for locals especially during the full moon and on clear/windless nights/mornings where the lights of the city below dazzle and the moon and stars show off its beauty in the night sky.

Codi was excellent looked after us all extremely well and pointed out interesting things to look at along with giving very interesting and thorough information about both the area and his experiences loved every minute of the tour esp the scrambling up and down and the views from the hike brilliant way to spend a couple of hours

We had an amazing experience hiking Lion’s Head for sunset with Kurt as our guide! He was incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and made sure everyone in our group was safe and comfortable throughout both the hike up and the way back down. He also took some great photos for us and helped everyone capture memorable pictures along the way. Kurt shared insightful information about Cape Town, the surrounding scenery, and what we were seeing throughout the hike. Did the Lion’s Head Sunrise Hike with Dino. Lion’s Head is a must do when in Cape Town! It is not difficult and you get rewarded with amazing views of Table Mountain and a 360 view of Cape Town with the golden glow at sunrise. Having Dino as our guide was the cherry on top with the knowledge he shared about the city as we went around the trail. Loved the positive energy he exuded and ps, he knows the best angles and spots for your Instagram photos! We had such a good time - thank you to the Cape Town Local team!
