Canyoning in Jaco

This was my favorite thing I have ever done in Costa Rica and in my top five of all my adventures while traveling! We got lucky and my 13 year old daughter and I were the only 2 booked to be with our guides Wilson and Joaquin that day so we felt extra spoiled but they were more than capable of taking care of a larger group. We started with a traditional lunch in a home that was set up with a small cafe area and then drove into the lush area up the mountain. Then we proceeded to hike (I saw birds & poisonous frogs), took two zip lines, cliff jumped into water, and then rappelled down four waterfalls. They set up some guide posts and ladders along the route but only just enough as to not interfere with the natural surroundings so keep in mind that you need to be in good shape and up for a challenge. Joaquin & Wilson are experts with the right gear and I always felt safe. I have recommended this excursion to everyone since returning for our trip.

The guides were so amazing and encouraging for our group of ladies! Would definitely do this again. The location was lovely, the food before was great, but man actually repelling the waterfalls 10/10!

We had an incredible time on the canyoning tour! Our 9-year-old son absolutely loved every minute of it. The guides were fantastic—professional, patient, and incredibly encouraging. When he started getting a little tired towards the end, they were amazing at supporting him, motivating him, and helping him finish. Safety was clearly the top priority throughout, and the team struck the perfect balance between making us feel secure and giving us an exciting adventure. The scenery was spectacular, and rappelling down waterfalls in the middle of the rainforest is something we’ll never forget. If you’re visiting Costa Rica and looking for an unforgettable family adventure, we can’t recommend this tour highly enough. Thank you to the whole team for making our and our son’s experience so special!

After doing multiple events in this area and La Fortuna, I have to say hands down this was the best. Our guides were absolutely fun and friendly. Always cracking a joke and having a good time. The food was great, and both Wilson and Lamar were great with the kids. Very patient and kind friendly. One of mine was 11 and smaller the other 13. Both were able to do the whole excursion and loved seeing the wildlife and the challenge of the rappelling! This is a must book!

Our trip with Lomar and Joaquin was amazing. From the start they were friendly and made easy conversation. They were great with instruction for our 2 teenage girls and made sure everyone was comfortable the entire trip. They had knowledge of all the plants and animals along the way. 100% recommend if you like zip lines, repelling and water jumps.

This is not for the faint of heart. We loved every minute of it. If you want to see the most beautiful parts of the rainforest and like a challenge, this is the perfect combo. Tomar and Lesly were very good guides and took great care of us. They also don’t mention that you are served a light lunch at a local home/restaurant before you are taken up the mountain for the excursion. The food was very good.

Such an awesome experience! Our guides were great! Very friendly and made the experience that much more special. Shoutout to the Jamaican/costa Rican guide can’t remember how to spell his name but he was really nice and funny. Even helped us with a flat tire after his work day ended.

We had a great time, and Limor was fantastic and very knowledgable about the activities as well as the local flora and fauna. Please notice, however, that our tour was not as described here. We chose the afternoon tour, and when we arrived to base camp, our day began with a lunch of arroz con pollo. Then, we did the ziplining, then had the chance to jump off high points into a beautiful pool or swim in it, and then did the canyoning. The most important thing that isn't mentioned here is that at the end, we then had to do a very long and strenuous hike back UP the whole way we had ziplined and rappelled down, to get back to the bus. We were exhausted at the end and I was sore the next day! But a great time, and we saw some very cool wildlife as well. (There was no fruit or drink at the end, and we ate lunch before we went since we weren't expecting to be served any at the beginning, but the food was good and the experience was beautiful and unforgettable.

We had an absolute blast with Lomar and Lesley. They were attentive to detail and safety. But they made the trip so much fun. While of course always keeping safety first we laughed so hard on this tour. Lomar personally helped me overcome a fear of jumping from heights into a pool which was such a YOLO experience for me. Everyone in our group of 6 rated it the best tour we did all week. Our only disappointed was we didn’t do the extreme tour and rappel down the 150 ft waterfall so I guess we’ll have to come back. If this is rated 5 out of 5 stars I would give it 10 out of 5. We loved every minute of it. It went by too fast.
