A great place with a unique character. We had the honor of being introduced by the founder and learning the secrets of the town and its history in a few minutes. We highly recommend it as a place not to be missed on your list in Tavira.

What an unexpected gem in Tavira..very enjoyable and the "guide" was very knowledgeable about Tavira ..was a lovely sunny day so we got brill views of the city. Would definitely recommend a visit on a sunny day!!!

We have a fantastic experience today visiting the camera obscure in Tavira. It was fascinating for our 11yo , and for all of us. It is fantastic to see how some mirrow and lenses allowed us to see all the town in a single room. Fantastic explanations by a very knowledgeable host, which brought to live the history of Tavira. Thanks for the opportunity to visit this unique attraction.

Great fun
Great fun, with real-time view of the town and running commentary from the host. (Expect some name-dropping though!) Just four of us, which was a bonus as we could move round the dish. Keep an eye on limited opening times.

A different photographic experience...
Since childhood I love photography When I was looking for places to visit in Tavira I was soon curious about this place. After going up... Very... Up there overlooking the whole city, we found this place. An old water reservoir that was to be demolished and thanks to opposing voices remained and was transformed into a camera. The guide who was the main driver of this space makes a guided visit where one realizes that this space was a life project. Through a system of engines and leverages, project images of the city on a wall. Wheel the lens, zoom and we go round and see 360o images of the city. No doubt worth the 5€ entry...

Dear, no point. Guide who speaks only English quickly and without articulating. Talked about hotels and expensive place. Nothing about the history of the city.

We really enjoyed our experience
We really enjoyed our half hour experience. Well worth the money. The guy that did the talk (in various languages for our small group of people) was very knowledgeable and he had a sense of humour. It was good to hear about the history of the area and some of the buildings. We arrived there at 12.30pm....just in time for the final talk of the day. It was a Bank Holiday so perhaps that is why they were closing early. Best to get in touch with them before your visit, just to make sure of the opening hours.
