Perfect for lovers of Japanese culture
The class is around 2 hours. So it’s wise to plan ahead. Kano San has a clean and tidy studio room to practice and can accommodate several people. I went alone and had one on one time to enjoy myself with the craft. It was a good time and money well spent.
Kano San is extremely nice and helpful, she routinely gives you tips to improve without sounding condescending or mean. She has a great passion for Shodo and that passion translates in to a genuine desire to share it with everyone. Both Japanese and non Japanese alike. If you have a love of Japanese culture, traditional Japanese culture where the pure aestheticism of their people shines, don’t miss this opportunity to take a shodo class with Kano San.

Thank you for your feedback! As you said, my classroom is for people who want to gain a deeper understanding of Japanese culture. I try to tailor my teaching to each individual, so I don't push them too hard. However you noticed the small details and asked me a lot of questions, so I did my best to convey my skills to you. And I will also take your advice and prepare the short class and the repeat one for guests who, like you, say they want to come back again! I look forward to seeing you again!

Calligraphy and Cooking class
I really spend a great time doing calligraphy, with a really good material ✨️
You have some time to practice and have good advice and explanations to have a splendid final result ☺️
I also do a cooking class here. We make Miso soup and Onigiri. Here again, the explanation was really good, and she take into account if you can't eat something, or don't like something so everyone can make something they can eat! And It was sooo good ☺️
It's okay if you can't speak Japanese, English is okay!

I am very happy that you visited my classroom twice during your travel!
As you said, in our calligraphy class, we have wonderful Japanese-made tools so that everyone can enjoy calligraphy with all five senses. Do you remember the sound and smell of rubbing the ink stick? :)
Yes! I will do my best to accommodate any food restrictions due to allergies, religion, etc.!
I'm honored to be part of your travel memories. Thank you very much!!

A wonderful space where you can learn calligraphy in earnest
Here you can experience calligraphy, a traditional Japanese culture, in earnest. Through the Japanese calligraphy experience, I was taught the spirit and culture of calligraphy in detail. The owner's teacher is very kind and enthusiastic, and he carefully explained each tool necessary for calligraphy and taught how to use it, so even if you have no knowledge, it's no problem. The classroom is also very clean and has a traditional Japanese design. When the teacher said at the beginning of the lesson, "Let's compare how much you have improved from the beginning to the end," I wondered if I could change in this moment, but I was surprised when it was over. I think I was able to write Japanese kanji quite well.
The teacher also taught me that self-talk is important in calligraphy, and that calligraphy has the effect of connecting the mind and body, just like yoga and meditation. I didn't expect to be able to learn calligraphy so deeply in a two and a half hour experience. It was a great experience. If you come to Japan, I think it's well worth going.

Thank you for your kind comments! I am very impressed with your progress in calligraphy and glad that you were able to immerse yourself in about two hours of practice. When you are focused on the present, time flies by. I hope that I was able to help you increase your concentration, even if only a little! Best wishes, Yamato
