The church was very beautiful and I thoroughly enjoyed my solo tour, but the audio guide had to be downloaded on an app and there was no one at the church to assist. I found the price for this church visit less expensive on other websites. $24.5 euros for entry only to the main church with the audio guide which I was not able to use. there are other sites to purchase tickets, which would include the upper Terrace and treasury also.
We enjoyed our visit to St Stephen’s Basilica, we were fortunate that our guide (Viviane) was very knowledgeable about the history of the church which made our visit even better. The view from the dome is definitely worth doing and you don’t need to worry about using the steps as there are elevators right to the top.
Let me start by saying that the Basilica itself is absolutely breathtaking. However…… We bought Skip the Line tickets online which I saved to my Apple wallet. We arrived 10 minutes before our allotted time and I showed my ticket to the attendant who had a handheld scanner. He just glanced at it and told me I had to go to the ticket office about 100m away around the side of the building and across the road. After queuing there for about 15 minutes the girl inside just scanned my ticket and pointed at the door and said it’s outside. After going outside and looking around lost, I was approached by a woman who, in a very strong Hungarian accent, asked if we were on the tour. We said yes, and she told us she was our guide. During the tour she was waffling on, but nobody in our group could understand her. After the tour we stayed and wandered around on our own which was great. The interior of the basilica was worth the hassle.

A marvel; I didn't want to leave the basilica and spend the night there; the color of the walls and its vaults...
Guide was kind, respectful and informative. More information prior to tour would have been helpful such as where exactly to meet guide. Still, it was an amazing tour with plenty of time given at the end to stay and enjoy.
