Embark on the adventure of a lifetime aboard the award-winning Buccaneer Pirate Cruise. Join us as we take to the seas of the Emerald Coast in search of undiscovered treasure. Entertainment and interaction create adventure, excitement, and merriment for the young and young at heart. Our captain and mates will amuse your whole crew from beginning to end with pirate-themed activities, witty banter, singing, dancing, and family fun. The crew engages willing participants in pirate training, sword fighting, water gun battles, a treasure hunt, and authentic cannon fire. Parents are welcome to join in with the Scallywags and Lil Bucs, but only those brave enough to complete pirate training will be made honorary members of the Buccaneer Crew. If you’re not keen to plundering and swabbing the decks, our galley mates serve grog to those pirates 21 and up. Simply kick back, relax, take in the scenery, and watch your lads and lasses have the time of their lives.

Unfortunately, the experience was pretty disappointing and felt very chaotic. There were only two pirate entertainers for what seemed like around 100 kids, with a huge range of ages. It was also extremely hot with very little to no shade, which made it difficult for the kids to stay comfortable, pay attention, and follow directions. Inside by the bar, there are tons of toys displayed right where the kids can see and reach them. Naturally, they kept wanting to touch and play with everything, which puts parents in the awkward position of constantly saying no or feeling obligated to buy something. The toys were also extremely overpriced. The pirate hats they gave the kids didn’t fit anyone in our group properly and had no string or strap to keep them on, so they kept falling off. One important tip: bring plenty of sunscreen! They do not sell sunscreen on board, which was surprising considering how much of the experience is spent outside in direct sun. The idea behind the experience is really cute, especially for kids who love pirates, but I think it could be much better organized, have more entertainers for the number of children, and provide more shade to make it enjoyable for families.

You joined us on a sold out cruise with more kids aboard than we typically see, and our crew does their best to keep every age group engaged in larger settings like that. We understand that September in Florida is still very hot, so we always have complimentary water on board to help combat the hotter temperatures. Guests can also spend time in the covered areas of the galley and quarter deck to get out of the sun. We hope to have you aboard again in the future.
