Bora Bora: Half Day Island 4WD Guided Tour

Let me preface this review that my wife and I have been on hundreds of Viator excursions and all were great except this one. Two reasons: first it was boring, we drove up three different steep roads a couple hundred meters each and took in the view. This would be ok for the first but they were all the same. The guide truly makes this type of experience and ours was more comfortable speaking French with the two French speakers. The rest of us (7) got very little explanations. The highlight was to be viewing American artillery guns from WWII. We had to hike pretty far down a path to get to them and frankly not that impressive. Second and more important was safety. The drivers door did not close. He held it closed with his arm. We were traveling up and down steep narrow roads with lots of rocks. If he fell out or was shifted out toward the door he would’ve pulled the steering wheel and we would be off the cliff, same on the roads. He wasn’t wearing a seatbelt either, which would’ve helped in an emergency. We were all sitting in the bed of the truck. I was happy the 3 hours were up and to be dropped off.

Thanks to Nono, our guide, for accompanying us on this day that was a bit different from usual! He told us so many things with a lot of passion and a desire to share! Thanks for the beautiful day

We tour the island in 3 hours with spots that can only be accessed by 4x4. It's a shame that the good hour-long walk (counting the stops where Nono, the guide, shows us and gives plenty of explanations about the plants and trees on the path) is not mentioned in the description. Participants are not necessarily wearing the right shoes for that.

Nice views of the island . The sun helped to see the sea and the bay in their fullness, only it was very hot. There were stops that were undeniable to my taste . Places they took us to see if we wanted to buy handicrafts (that seemed boring to me) then another type of unnecessary stop was to show us a flower from a tree, which although it was very beautiful, we spent a lot of time at the place .

No No our tour guide was fantastic!! He told us alot about the history of the island and showed us beautiful sites. He was a great speaker, friendly and very interesting to listen to. I highly recommend this tour and many thanks to our guide No No..for he was just amazing!!!

Great tour with Nono who took us to the end of the visit by seating us on benches made from coconut trees! Super nice guide, clear and precise explanations, answers questions Wet towels very pleasant after the short walk during the discovery of the American cannons I highly recommend it

very informative. Our guide Terae lives his island, and shares this emotion with you. He shows around over steep uphill „roads“ to see the island, the lagoon, and the sea.

Very nice half day guided tour around the Bora Bora Island. Interesting information about history, agriculture, local crafts, etc. Our guide Mata Nono was very knowledgable and attentive, speaking excellent english!!!
