Loved this early entrance experience
Giovanni was an excellent guide and this was the perfect time of day to go. We met by the marina in front of a cafe, which was easy to find. Then we were on a boat with 12 people total. The ride to the Blue Grotto was scenic and Giovanni told us about the history of the island. We were the first boat to arrive to the Blue Grotto and we saw the tug boat and row boats arriving. Then we got off our boat and into the row boats in groups of four. You can pay cash or credit card for the entrance fee, but tipping the row boat guide was in cash. Bring cash to tip Giovanni at the end of the tour, not required but really well deserved! This was a perfect experience for the Blue Grotto, beautiful and efficient.

Great Experience and Great Guides
This was amazing. My granddaughter was the one who suggested this when we were looking for tours on our trip to Italy. Our guide made sure we were the first boat into the Grotto that morning. We were really lucky as the tide was perfect the day we went in but he was quite upfront about us possibly not being able to experience it. It was short but a lot of fun. The travel from the port to the grotto was quite interesting.

An unforgettable trip, thanks to Captain Giovanni and being among the first into the Blue Grotto.
We had a fantastic time with Captain Giovanni, who was incredibly friendly, welcoming and knowledgeable. He took the time to share the history of Capri, making the experience both enjoyable and informative, while always ensuring everyone felt safe and comfortable on board.
Setting off early was absolutely worth it—we were among the very first boats to enter the Blue Grotto, which made all the difference. We avoided the long queues and got to experience the grotto at its most peaceful and magical.
To top it all off, Captain Giovanni went above and beyond to make the trip truly special. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience.

Intimate tour and well organized!

Fantastic because the Capt knew what he was doing.
Definitely a five. Giovanni was the perfect Capt. We were the first two boats that went through and it was well worth the wait for. We also had a fantastic tour around the island, Capt. Giovanni was wonderful.

Do Yourself a Favor
Not only was the Blue Grotto otherworldly, Giovanni was a fantastic guide. We were the first boat to arrive at the Blue Grotto, and were within the first 3 or 4 boats inside. With that out of the way, we were free to go around the whole island, passing the Faro, visiting the Green Grotto and the White Grotto, and passing Marina Piccola and the Faroglini. Giovanni was very nice and full of information.
I can’t recommend the Blue Grotto enough. It’s breathtaking, though I wasn’t prepared for what an intimate experience it is. You have to get into a smaller boat to go inside the cave, and you are…very close to the captain and the other passengers. But it’s only for a brief time, and you’ll be so entranced with the glowing blue water, you won’t notice.

Must do!!!
Absolutely amazing experience.
Definitely recommend getting up early to do this trip - be one of the first to The Blue Grotto and only a few minutes wait to get in. As we were through the grotto so quickly, the Skipper kindly threw in a tour around the island - a wonderful and unexpected bonus. Can not recommend this tour highly enough.
