Blarney Castle and Kinsale Tour from Cork
Itinerary
Blarney Castle & Gardens
Admission included180 min
Enjoy three hours at Ireland's premier fairytale castle - Blarney.
Climb the battlements, kiss the stone (or cheer on the crazy ones who do), walk in the gardens and shop tax free at the famous Woolen Mills.
VIP Skip the Line access has already been arranged for you - so no worries about the long lines on days when the world's biggest cruise ships are at nearby Cobh.
Charles Fort
Admission included60 min
Next up is the spectacular 17th century pentagon shaped fortress, Charles Fort - named after Charles II.
Built when Ireland was the second seat of the British Empire, Charles Fort was a major British Army and Royal Navy base overlooking the approach to Kinsale for 200 years.
The structure, grounds and coastal vistas will excite both adults and kids and provide excellent opportunities for photos. Look out for marine wildlife from strategic vantage points where cannons used to perch.
Your entrance fee (EUR 5.00 adult / EUR 3.00 student & senior) is included with the cost of your tour!
Kinsale
80 min
The resort town of Kinsale is a delight and a highlight for many this afternoon.
Nicknamed "Ireland's Riviera" the town features a marina full of yachts, winding cobbled streets with galleries and pubs and one of the best gastronomy scenes in the region.
Enjoy 80 minutes at leisure to stroll around soaking up the atmosphere or pop into a good pub for a pint of Murphy's Cork Stout and a plate of trawler fresh seafood.
You'll find plenty of delicious options to choose from including pubs, cafe's and sandwich shops. Some of our favourite's include The Spaniard Inn, The Bulman Bar, Lord Kingsale and Fishy Fishy.
(For those who prefer to explore or to shop, feel free to take a packed lunch or to grab a sandwich at Blarney)
Cobh
90 min
Our last stop of the afternoon is in the historic port of Cobh.
Scene of many tearful goodbyes for generations of Irish emigrants on their way to the United States and Canada, these days Cobh hosts the biggest cruise ships in the world on blue skied summer days.
If you have Irish ancestors who left the Emerald Isle before the 1950s it's likely you're now standing on the same soil as they did all those years ago.
Check out the Titanic Museum (optional) in the White Star Line ticket office, check out the colourful houses and streets with a casual stroll or pop in to the spectacular St Colman's Roman Catholic Cathedral which dominates the skyline.
160 min
You'll arrive back in downtown Cork 9.5 hours after departure (the 160 minutes allocated to this "attraction" of the total 9.5 hours is spent touring in the bus through the countryside of Cork during the day).

Best time!
I was expecting a larger group of people and only got about 20 in my group, which to me seemed perfect! We had plenty of time at each stop and Micheal was a fantastic guide, loved his humour! I honestly couldn’t have asked for a better day! We were the first group at blarney castle, so I got to explore the grounds and castle practically on my own and didn’t have to wait in line to kiss the stone! Kinsale was beautiful, they had a small market going on which was perfect. Cobh was my favourite part, as it was at the end and I got to look around and sit for a cup of tea! Overall would totally do this again!!

Highly recommend this tour, especially if DJ is driving/guiding
The poor reviews on TripAdvisor speak to last-minute cancellations or travelers being left behind. However, our tour was fabulous. DJ, our driver and guide was eloquent (in an Irish sort of way) and very funny. He also has a command of Irish history. We had 15 passengers on the bus (which seats about 55) so we had ample room to spread out. Climate and charging worked perfectly. Regrettably it appears the Wi-Fi wasn't working but we had cell coverage for most of the trip. DJ was clear about departure times, and we departed each location on time. Btw, he took extra time to count passengers to ensure no one was left behind. He also accompanied the group at each ticket location to ensure we skipped any lines.
Blarney Castle is amazing...not just the structures but the gardens which are meticulously maintained with a wide variety of plants. Charles Fort was a welcome attraction as its location gave us an opportunity to FaceTime our grandsons in the U.S. with spectacular views of the structure and Kinsale town. Kinsale was a good stop for lunch at Kitty O'Shea (a bit of a disappointment as fish and chips were just OK and smoking is allowed inside) but the streets were colorful. The final stop, Cobh was perfectly timed to allow for a tour (discounted due to Paddywagon arrangement) of the Titanic Experience.
During the road trip, DJ played (and at times sang) lively Irish songs. Fun. Highly recommend this tour, especially if DJ is driving/guiding.

Pattywagon to Blarney, Kinsale & Cobh - Delightful
It is nice to be able to into Ireland and not feel as though you need to drive. The ability to take a bus and listen to the staff talk about the area and share inside stories they have come across. On this trip to Blarney, Kinsale and Cobh Tommy was knowledgeable and passionate about a variety of subjects. On this trip we were dropped off in the area and allowed to wander and explore. That too is fun once and a while.

Poor
My mother and I took part in this trip in September 2026. We had enjoyed a trip to the Ring Of Kerry the day before and had a fantastic day with Connor. Sadly this trip did not live up to expectations. Whilst the route and places visited were enjoyable the ramblings of driver and tour guide Tommy were dreadful. Some facts were interesting however some were just general ramblings and opinion. I do wonder how he was able to concentrate on the driving when he scarse drew breath. A bit of a let down with this one. I would book again but certainly not a Tommy trip. Sorry.

The Blarney Castle and...
The Blarney Castle and Kinsale excursion was awesome! The tour left on time and we were at the castle to kiss the Blarney Stone early morning before the crowds! The travel to Kinsale was great with our guide sharing history of the area and had a delicious lunch at Gino’s. Next stop was Cobh to see the beautiful church Titanic museum. It was a great day and would recommend this excursion!
