A special experience to view the underwater world
A special experience to discover the beautiful underwater world of Bonaire in the dark. Nice explanation beforehand and we were lucky that it was a private tour with just the two of us, so in the water there was plenty of time to guide us well. Because of the jellyfish that come floating up around seven forty-five (and you really have to get out of the water!), the tour is a little shorter than 1.5 hours. No problem for us, we were able to see the beautiful plankton and the glowing other organisms just fine. It's also good that the equipment was well arranged.

Magical trip
This was a very unique experience. Being in the water at night on its own already was something I had never done. And then seeing al the little lights start to glow was truely magical

I did not feel safe
There was nothing but a few sparkles when you moved your arms. The guide lost sight of me and when I myself discovered that I must have drifted and was alone about 100 yards away from the other 4 women and one male guide, he didn’t even know I was not with him. I was scared as it was pitch black in a dark ocean. I did not feel safe at all and couldn’t wait to get out of the water. A disappointing experience.

Thank you for sharing your experience. I’m sorry to hear that you felt unsafe during the snorkel.
Because this experience takes place at night in very dark conditions, it is not possible to visually track every person continuously. This is exactly why I clearly ask everyone during the briefing to stay close together as a group throughout the snorkel.
When I realized I could not immediately see you, I had the other guests turn on their lights so we could locate you. I was actively looking for you, and I certainly did not intentionally continue without noticing or caring that someone was separated from the group.
The amount of bioluminescence can also vary depending on natural conditions, and unfortunately nature cannot guarantee the same intensity every night.
I understand that finding yourself separated from the group in complete darkness would have been frightening, and I’m sorry that this resulted in a disappointing experience for you.

Must do!
We were very fortunate to have Kenny as a guide for this adventure. He is knowledgeable of the waters in Bonaire and educated us along the way. We loved the experience. Bonaire bioluminescent snorkeling was something I feel precipitated to have experienced.

Cancelled on us last min and still haven’t received refund yet
Cancelled last minute and still have not received refund yet and no reply to my query about receiving refund after they cancelled the excursion

can you please reach out to us directly if you still have not received a refund. If we canceled you on the last minute, I apologize we did not notice it sooner. But the only reason we ever canceled this excursion was because our booking system had a mistake in it that allowed users to book the experience when it was not possible to see the bioluminescence.

Probably one of my...
Probably one of my favorite excursions I’ve done so far in Bonaire. Pretty fun to see the bioluminescence in the ocean, our Guide provided gear as well and was very knowledgeable about ocean life. Never swam in the ocean in the dark before but I felt safe with our guide Jim regardless. I would do this one again.

Amazing short trip
You will see two types of bioluminescence - in water and on the ocean floor; it is beautiful and amazing to see how at a certain time clusters of algae show many lights, like someone turned on bulbs in a Christmas tree. It is not difficult and definitely recommended.

Fantastic
