Bioluminescent Bay Kayak Trip from Vieques

Description
Vieques Kayaks Bio Bay excursions are guided in solid and semi clear bottom kayaks through the glowing waters of Mosquito Bay, located on the island of Vieques, Puerto Rico. Mosquito Bay is the brightest Bioluminescent Bay in the world! Children age five and older are welcome to join the tour with a parent or adult, so long as a ticket is purchased for each participant. To do our tour, guests MUST BE aware that Vieques is an island apart from Puerto Rico so you will need to take a ferry from Ceiba or a plane from San Juan or Ceiba and stay overnight at the island. Our excursions depart nightly at 7pm and 9pm. We do not operate during full moon. Book now to paddle the GLOW with Vieques Kayaks Bio Bay excursions, where the Bio Bay is the star!

Itinerary
This excursion is located on the island of Vieques, Puerto Rico. In order to participate in our tour, an overnight stay on Vieques is required. Vieques is a separate island off of the main island of Puerto Rico. You will need to take a plane or ferry from the main island of Puerto Rico to reach Vieques, and you will need to arrange separate ground transportation because you will not be able to bring a rental car on the ferry with you. Because we only offer tours at night so that our clients can experience the glow of the bay, even if you take our earliest tour, you will not be back to our meeting point with enough time to get on a ferry or a plane back to the main island on the same day. Our guides will meet you in Esperanza directly across from Rainbow Realty (278 Calle Flamboyan). Roundtrip from the meeting point, the excursion is 2 hours, time on the bay about 1.5 hours, weather permitting. We provide transportation from the meeting point to the Bio Bay entrance and back.

Great guide. Full of info and was super friendly.
Great experience! Our guide was so knowledgeable about everything from the science behind the bioluminescence to where the constellations are.
The MOST amazing experience of my life. Not only is the bioluminescence fascinating and beautiful but you are able to see and photograph the milky way as well. Diamonds above and below you💎 Staff was very knowledgeable, witty and great communicators. Kayaks were tandem so it is a perfect experience to go with a partner, child, or family for a night you will never forget. Bioluminescence is a little challenging to capture on phone camera but stars with maximum night mode setting are a great photo. 100% would do it again.
Me and my wife went with Martinez, with us being the only ones to book the trip. Couldn’t be happier with the experience, Martinez was extremely knowledgeable and friendly, I felt like I got a genuinely good experience. For those worried about the pickup/ ride, a little “different” but worth the experience. Got lots of info on stars and the bioluminescence, and the entire trip was very interactive. Shout out to Martinez!
I would recommend bio bay experience. Best to book during a new moon or as much darkness as possible to experience the full bioluminescence. Tour guide was very knowledgeable of the biology and ecosystems in addition to knowledge on constellations.
The tour guide Arnaldo was extremely knowledgeable about the bio bay marine biology and even the constellations that we were looking at. He also tied his rope to my kayak and helped me on the way back when my arms got tired from rowing . He took a tarp to cover us as it was a full moon and a little bright so the tarp really made a difference to see the organisms light up in the water!
Great experience! Planning on going back during the new moon.
We went 4 days after the new moon and it wasn’t that impressive. Vieques is a quaint little island but the ferry and overnight stay all to go to bioluminescent bay feels like a little too much for an hour paddling in water that sort of glows. Out tour guide was a nice guy.
The bay glow can be afected by many natural things that make it glow more or less, not only if there is moon or not. Nature is nature and we can't control that. Awer tour's last for 1 hour and 50 minutes not one hour. May be this reviews is from another company?? We had other costumers mistake this company with others many times. Why I don't know but Viator shold fix it. Thanks for visiting Vieques!
This experience was unforgettable, and our guide took everything to a new level thanks to his passion and sense of humor. My only criticism is that the meeting point was not very well marked; it would be appreciated to determine the meeting point with more detail.
It was a beautiful experience! The stars were visible as well as the bioluminescent! This was our second time and it still is breathtaking
