Our tour starts on Pont dels Serrans in Turia Gardens. You'll hear some of the early history of Valencia while you walk.
The history of Valencia is a story about the relationship between a city and its river. Its first Roman settlement was built on an island in the Turia River in 138 BC. The settlement grew, influenced by the river until 1957 when, after a catastrophic flood, it was decided that the torrent should be diverted. On this walking tour, you’ll wade through 2,000 years of history that developed alongside the river.
I’ll then guide you from Torres de Serranos, an old city gate, through the maze of churches, cathedrals, and basilicas in the heart of Ciutat Vella (the old town) to emerge through Torres De Quart, Valencia’s other remaining gate.
The tour guides you through Plaza de la Virgen, where you'll hear some of the square's history.
Visit the city’s most impressive and beautiful Catholic places of worship, including the Royal Basilica, Valencia Cathedral, and Church of San Nicolás de Bari and San Pedro Mártir
You'll pass through Plaça de Dècim Juni Brut and hear about its history while you walk.
I’ll show you the city’s most breathtaking attractions including Valencia Cathedral’s impressive 800-year-old Door of the Almoina.
See Valencia’s first public hospital, Sant Joan de l’Hospital, which relied mostly on miracles rather than medicine for healing
I’ll show you the city’s most breathtaking attractions including the Palace of the Marquis de Dos Aguas, and Europe’s narrowest house, La Casa mas Estrecha.
Grab a bite in the “Cathedral of the Senses,” Mercat Central
You'll have a chance to visit two important archaeological digs at Galería del Tossal: first the Muralla Árabe and then La Almoina Archaeological Museum.
The tour ends in front of Tores de Quart. You'll hear its history before the tour ends.

Fun and interesting way to explore Valencia at our own pace. We liked being able to pause the tour to do some shopping or grab something to eat then continue on our way.
Audio did not follow the stops very well. Hard to find what the “guide” was talking about. Cell service was very bad in old town which didn’t help. We gave up and just walked around. I wouldn’t do it again.
Hi there, I'm sorry that you were unhappy with your experience. When you were having technical difficulties, did you contact VoiceMap support via email or telephone? We are contactable by both telephone and email, so if you have technical difficulties, please reach out to us so we can identify what is going wrong. Again, I'm sorry about the poor experience you had.
The speaker was very good and added humor to his dialog which made it entertaining. GPS did take a while to catch up so got lost a few times.
Really excellent way to see the city. Self-paced and very informative. Gives you an excellent insight into the many layers of history in the city and the tech worked really well for us, very easy to follow.
Brilliant self guided tour for the solo traveller. Engaging and interesting. I highly recommend it !!
Great to have interesting, informative voice in my ears guiding me as I walk through the old city. Appreciated the speaker being Australian, obviously easy for me to clearly understand. Got slightly lost once or twice but it always picked up I was off down the wrong street and helped me back to the correct spot. Will use again for other city visits if available.
Very well done Audio tour. Very easy to follow and informative. We liked that you could pause it for lunch or snacks and start it again.
We really enjoyed the tour. The narrator was witty & enjoyable to listen to. We liked learning more about the city at our own pace and having the ability to listen to it whenever we wanted. We wished that there was more flexibility with the exact starting point and also if we missed a particular sight, it would have been nice to still play the audio regarding the missing place. Twice, we were in extremely close radius and still had to miss the audio. Also, the directions for using the audio guide weren't good. I figured out the map later and also that I could turn it off. But at one point, I thought that my turning it off had booted us out from the tour. I would have liked to have read about that (helpful tips or something) prior to actually downloading the guide.
This was a very informative audio guide. We were able to locate the places that interested us the most and visit those places.
The pace of the tour was perfect (even though we could pause and resume the audio manually) and the guide was extremely insightful. The views of the city take on a whole new meaning once you get to know its history!
