In this tour, you will have a great taste of Athens! During your private tour, you will visit the sacred Rock of the Acropolis with the Parthenon, admire the remains of Zeus’s Temple, visit the modern Olympic, Panathenaic or “Kalimarmaro” stadium, and then pass through the National Gardens into the heart of the city. You will also see the Syntagma Square and witness the hourly change of the guards. During the tour, you will also see the famous trilogy of neoclassical architecture, the National Library, the Academy of Arts and Sciences and the first University of Athens. Afterwards, we will head uptown to Kolonaki, where elite fashion and couture shops meet with beautiful sidewalk cafes. Later, we will go downtown to the vibrant fish and meat market, before we head to Monastiraki Square. Finally, if time and traffic permit, there will be an option for a nice local lunch at a Greek taverna.

The Athens Sightseeing usually starts at the Acropolis hill, with well known architectural masterpieces of the Golden Age of Athens that includes Erechtheion (female statues of the Caryatides or Maidens dedicated to goddess Athena and god Poseidon), the temple of Athena Nike and Propylaea. You will also have a great chance to foresee the monument (that puts an order in mind), which is the Parthenon. From the top of the Acropolis hill you can see, the Odeon of Herodus Atticus, the Theatre of Dionysus and the Areopagus (Mars Hill). Get ready for a memorable day! We are expecting you!

- Should you require the Services of a Professional Guide, who is Licensed to guide you within archaeological sites and/or Museums, this is an Additional Service. The Additional cost for the Licensed Tour Guide, Accredited with the Ministry of Culture, is 250 euros for 3 hours (Suggested Option), and for a Full day, at your entire disposal, 350 euros subject to availability.
- Instead of including food in the tour price, we invite you to enjoy a meal at a lovely local tavern. With great quality, very reasonable prices, and a wide range of choices, you can simply order whatever suits your taste.
- Instead of purchasing the tickets on your behalf and including them in the tour price, we will send you a booking link after your reservation and assist you in pre-buying your Acropolis Hill tickets. This allows you to skip long lines and secure your visit in advance. Many travelers are eligible for reduced or free admission—such as children and students up to 18 years old, and senior citizens from the European Union—so this approach ensures you don’t pay more than necessary.

Our guide, Nancy, met us at the cruise ship terminal and made it very easy for us. She was on time and had a sign with our name. She took us immediately to the Acropolis and the museum, so we missed the big crowds. Then she showed us all of the city highlights, including the local market and a local restaurant. Nancy was interested in making sure we got the exact experience we wanted. I highly recommend Nancy’s private tour in her spacious, comfortable van.

We spent a full day with Timeless Athens Tours, and honestly, it was one of the best parts of our European trip. We had both our driver, Vassilis and guide Petros with us, and they were an amazing team. Petros was basically a walking history book—in the best possible way. He knew everything and explained it all so casually and clearly that it never felt overwhelming. They’re fabulous. Professional, expert, and experienced. Markos is a very skilled driver who knows Athens and how to share it with a mixed group. We just had a wonderful day with our driver Marcos. We started with a tour of Acropolis with Petrus, very knowledgeable and interesting! Thereafter Marcos drove us around to see the main sights followed by a delicate Greek lunch. Marcos was flexible and arranged all according to our different needs, a family ranging from 10 years old to 85 years old. Highly recommended, we had a wonderful day seeing the sights of Athens and learning more about Greece, both history and current life.
My husband and I had only one day in extended transit and are very glad that we decided to book a private tour with Timeless Athens Tours. Marco (driver and tour company representative) picked us up at the airport hotel and we picked up Petros (licensed guide extraordinaire) en route to the Acropolis. We were reluctant to join a standard tour both because we’re not “tour” people and because I now have some mobility issues. Together, Marco and Petros took excellent care of us, curated a personally crafted tour, and gave us a good sampling of Athens and, especially, the Acropolis. Marco is very personable and passionate about giving guests a good sampling of the city—and a skilled driver! Petros is a gem of a guide—the kind who not has great depth of knowledge and creative ways to lead you through the complexities of Greek history, but also deep love for Greece and its heritage. We started private tour from the cruise port and went to Corinth canal. Ancient Corinth was explained by the professional Guide Vera. She was very skillful in every ways. Moreover our driver Yanis was super-excellent. He did not waste anytime and even recommended us beautiful hidden gems of Greece. Private tour was flexible because we had two children. Athens private tours was so easy to work with from the very first email. Vallisis was prompt, organized and had great recommendations. We did two tours back to back days. 1/2 day to the temple of Poseidon and the next day a full day tour of Athens. I cannot say enough great things about our driver Yannis. Five stars! The team at “Athens Tours” took excellent care of us! Vassilios picked us up from the cruise ship in a comfortable Mercedes and took us to the Hotel to drop off our luggage before the day-long Athens tour. Natalie, our personal tour guide, joined us and took us to the Acropolis Museum to start the tour followed by a nice cup of cappuccino at the foot of Acropolis and a complete and knowledgeable tour of the Museum, Amphitheater, and the top of the Acropolis site. Natalie, who also doubled as our photographer, knew her stuff! We were so glad we had a tour guide instead of trying to “do Athens” ourselves. After the Acropolis, the team dropped us off near the ancient city of Agora for a delicious Greek lunch per their recommendations. After lunch, Natalie took us on a tour of Agora, the Temple of Hephaestus, the Agora museum, and adjacent church. The team took us by some additional sites on the way back to the hotel. The next day, another team member, Nikos, picked us up early to catch a plane back to the US. Nikos is also a student of Greek history and the ride to the airport became an additional tour! The Athens Tour team communicates well with both text and/or “WhatsApp” which is comforting in a foreign country.
