Description

Join us on an unforgettable guided tour to Sachsenhausen, one of the most significant Holocaust memorial sites and a former Nazi concentration camp. This experience offers deep and respectful insight into the history and daily life within the camp, helping you understand the atrocities and resilience of those who suffered here. Our meeting point is Alexanderplatz, where you will be welcomed by an expert local guide. From there, we’ll embark on a scenic train ride to Sachsenhausen. Upon arrival, you will explore key sites of the camp, including the infamous Tower A, bearing the haunting “Arbeit macht frei” sign. We will walk through barracks 38 and 39, where Jewish prisoners were held, visit the punishment cells, the infirmary, and the morgue. You’ll also see the kitchen, now transformed into a museum, and the remains of Station Z. At the end of the tour, you have the option to return to Berlin with the group or stay longer to explore at your own pace.

Excellent tour

Highly recommend this tour. Maria was our guide and she is so knowledgeable and relays all the information so well. I learnt more from her than any other thing I’ve done in Berlin, it is a relatively short tour but was adequate time to see much of the camp. The bus ride was in a lovely new coach and was very relaxing. I definitely recommend this tour. Especially if it’s with Maria.

It doesn't end where it begins!

Our guide Dani did a super job, he knew a lot about the subject, and the tour in general was good. IMPORTANT: They say they drop you back off at the same starting point, however, this is a lie. They give you a \"time\" to walk around on your own at the end at the concentration camp, knowing that 30 minutes is not enough to see even 1/4th of it. The guide leaves and leaves you there on your own and you have to find a way to get back on your own. He didn't even tell us how to get back to Berlin, thank the universe for Google Maps, otherwise we wouldn't have been able to make it.

Operator response

Our guide, Richard, was so knowledgeable and made it a very memorable experience. I was traveling solo and he made the group feel very comfortable, getting to know us as well.

Amazingly informative and thought provoking

It’s definitely one of the most educational experiences I’ve had yet! Ismael was our guide, just amazing! We got lost on our way to the meeting point because of transport that didn’t work and Alva helped us connect with the grupo. I would definitely repeat this!

Berlin Sachsenhausen’s tour

This is an intense experience that people must have. Imagining what would have happened around those times can be overwhelming and numbing. Our tour guide Beny was informative and objective about the story and the place ! He was good at what he was doing It’s an experience which is humbling and unmissable.

Great experience with a 10/10 guide.

We went on this tour and were delighted. Our guide was Vicent and she was wonderful. It turned out that that day they were just detonating a World War II bomb, a fact that, she told us, happened often, but that day they did not notify anyone in advance, so we were lucky to arrive at the town to start the visit to the concentration camp, since shortly after they cut off public transport. The visit went wonderfully and Vicent kept us hooked on her explanations the whole time, with extraordinary oratorical skill. Then, to return to Berlin, because of the transport cuts, we had to take replacement buses and Vicent made sure that each of us arrived at our next point as soon as possible and safely. A 10/10 for Vicent.

Provoking day

Allow for the travel time for your days plans as well as the time for the tour, especially if you wanted to stay on and look around the camp more. Pete was a very informative guide giving us lots of interesting side bits of information as we made our journey to and around the camp.
