Art History major says "Don't miss this tour!"

I can't give enough stars for the fantastic day I spent touring the Berlin art scene with Insight Cities Guide Justin Polera. I was particularly interested in going to galleries I wouldn't be able to find and digging deeper into the Berlin art scene - historic and contemporary. Justin did it all! He knew everyone. Not only did we go to some of the most interesting galleries and meet with gallerists, we also stopped into some terrific shows at Hamburger Banhoff and the New National Gallery. And even though I had a strong Art History background, touring those shows with Justin was a much deeper experience. He shared stories about the many artists he knew personally and had even put together slide shows on his ipad showing the evolution of the artists we were seeing. And nothing stuffy about this art tour. Not only brilliant, Justin is also fun! We'd planned for 3 hours; we toured for 6 . What day. Don't miss it!

Operator response

Digging into Berlin's art-filled center

This tour was a great "catch up" on the latest art shows in Berlin. Our guide Laureline had clearly done her homework and provided amazing insights into the artworks and their creators. It was also a great way to really dig into the city's Mitte district. She led us in an out - and even on top - of so many amazing buildings in the historic center of former East Berlin!

Operator response

Thanks so much for the kind feedback. It's a big encouragement to our whole team of expert historian guides at Insight Cities Berlin at this tough time when the pandemic has all but frozen our industry. We love this tour and we look forward to opening up Berlin's dynamic art scene to visitors again as soon as we can! Hoping to welcome you again on Insight Cities tours in Berlin, Vienna, Prague, Budapest, Salzburg and on the historian-led tours we launch this fall in Munich.

Fabulous experience full of surprises and reflections

What makes this experience so fabulous? It`s not only because you get the feeling there is a secret (gallery) hiding behind every little door in Berlin. Thanks to Laureline´s skillful, knowledgable and passionate approach, you also get to reflect more deeply on the urgent function art has in society. After the fourth gallery, you feel it in your bones. Isn´t this the greatest achievement you can get from such a tour?
