Itinerary
The Cathedral of the Holy Cross and Saint Eulalia, also known as Barcelona Cathedral, is the seat of the Archbishop of Barcelona in Catalonia, Spain. T
Check out the decidedly modern addition just next to the ancient Barcelona Cathedral. These 20th century sculptures were created with letters from the artistic alphabet of Joan Brossa in 1992. The six bronze and one aluminum pieces spell out Barcino, which was the name of the city before it became Barcelona.
Plaça del Rei, or Plaza of the King, is a serene Medieval square in the heart of el Gotico. Ensconced by The Palau Reial Major, or Major Royal Palace, it's easy to imagine the counts of Barcelona and kings of Aragon (and perhaps Christopher Columbus?) carrying out their duties under the watchful eye of a majestic 15th century tower.
These staggering columns from the 1st Century BC are impressive in both stature and history. Residing in a quiet courtyard in the Jewish Quarter, the four monoliths were uncovered entirely by accident in the 19th century. Standing nine meters (nearly 30 feet) tall, the four columns were part of a much larger temple, dedicated to the worship of Emperor Augustus.
The age of this gorgeous arch-bridge may surprise you, and it’s hidden-secrets might give you a bit of a spook! While the style is ornately gothic, it was actually built in 1928 by architect Joan Rubio, who was a friend and disciple of Antoni Gaudi. But how did this small strip of architectural art come to be? Come with me to learn!
We will go through the Jewish Quarter and see the oldest synagogue in Spain, which is also one of the oldest in all of Europe. Learn about the contributions the Jewish community made before their "expulsion" and what happened after.
Flanked by the Barcelona City Hall and the Palace of the Provincial Government of Catalunya, Plaza Sant Jaume is the administrative center of the city and region! Once the site of the Church of Sant Jaume, the bustling square is also home to cafes, chocolate shops and all other sorts of retail. A great place to part ways!

Unreliable. They never showed. It was terrible. Wasted money, wasted time and a disappointed wife. Don’t use them.
I’m very sorry for missing your tour. I was without internet access and didn’t see your booking, which came just a few hours before the scheduled tour. I have issued a full refund. I sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and disappointment and would welcome the chance to make it right on a future visit. Best regards, Valerie
Valerie took us on an informative walking tour, and took some great pictures along the way. Highly recommend this experience. You will have a wonderful time and have lovely photos to show for it, regardless of if it's just you, a couple, or a group. I went with my family and we will cherish these photos forever. Thank you Val!
Valerie is very knowledgeable about the Gothic quarter, personable, and has a sense of humor. She pointed out many things that I would have missed. I would retake a tour, and so should you.
Thank you so much for the kind words. I also had a great time with you guys. I'm glad you learned!!
Valerie is so knowledgeable and fun! She guided us through the Gothic quarter telling us about the history of the landmarks and pointing out the littlest details. If you're looking for an English or Spanish speaking guide, look no further!
Thank you so much! I love sharing the history hidden secrets of Barcelona. I'm really glad you enjoyed it.
We had such a great time learning about the Gothic Quarter with Valerie. She was really knowledgeable and a lot of fun. We absolutely LOVE our pictures. Holiday card photo chosen!!! Highly recommend.
I first met Valerie in 2012 at an event we were both photographing. I remember her as being exceptionally professional and kind, even as we shared the same space while working for different clients. Valerie made such a strong impression on me that I later hired her to work events with me. Her work is creative, and she has a remarkable ability to tell stories through her images. Valerie knows exactly how to connect with her subjects, capturing genuine expressions and the essence of each moment. I highly recommend Valerie for your shoot in Barcelona?
Aw, Katty! Thank you so much for these kind words!
We only had 3 days in Barcelona and wanted to do something private/not part of a big crowd for our last tour. We booked this one with Valerie on the advice of a friend, and it was perfect! We had so much fun being introduced to the Gothic Quarter. Valerie was knowledgeable, funny and very accommodating to our little group. It felt like a personalized tour, and that was exactly what I was looking for. Highly recommend!! And get the waffle ! 😁
Thank you thank you thank you ! I hope to see you again if you make it back to this beautiful city!

Oh, thank you, Lory Beth. I enjoyed our day as well. You and Bob are such a lovely couple, and were so easy to shoot!
First of all, VALERIE IS AMAZING! I had a solo tour with her throughout the Gothic Quarters/ Old Town, El Raval, El Born, and so many more areas of Barcelona. Since I booked the solo tour, Valerie showed me all the places to shop for myself and my friends and family at home, restaurants, and even the locations for the BEST coffee shops. She is funny, knowledgeable, and talented. I have forever memories from Barcelona thanks to this tour! Thank you Valerie for such an unforgettable experience! Highly recommended tour with brilliant photo shots all over Barcelona.
Thank you so much!! I had a blast with you, too!!!
