Description
Bangkok Sunset Ride is a very gentle culinary and cultural bicycle ride through Bangkok and Thonburi side. Experience the Thai capital at night during this amazing bicycle adventure. Ride through quiet and safe back roads and small lane ways. Visit ancient temples and the flower market after sunset. The places you visit are somehow more magical at night, with many temples beautifully illuminated in the evening.

Amazing cycle!
Fantastic sunset cycle through Bangkok!
We cycled through Chinatown and saw some of the quieter corners which you wouldn't usually visit, stopped at local temples, took a boat crossing (and back later) to the Thonburi side where we sampled local food at a food market, had a lovely meal at a local restaurant and cycled past the Grand Palace - stunning at night and no one around - quite magical! We also visited the flower market which was fantastic and a stop at the Wat Pho viewpoint for photos. Cycling felt safe and manageable, though probably better suited to those who are vaguely familiar with cycling generally as you do cycle through the main road in Chinatown - which we found to be a really fun experience and actually quite safe as everyone in BKK tends to drive fairly slowly in busier areas. I recorded 16kms total for the cycle, so a nice work out at the same time. Our guide Bee was kind and knowledgeable.
This was one of the highlights of our Thailand trip and I would recommend!

Thank you so much for the wonderful review!
We are thrilled to hear that the Bangkok Sunset Ride was a highlight of your time in Thailand. It sounds like you truly captured the magic of the city’s evening transformation!
A Few Highlights from Your Trip
It’s great to see that you enjoyed the contrast between the bustling energy of Chinatown and the serene, "hidden" corners of Thonburi. We agree—there is something truly special about seeing the Grand Palace illuminated at night without the usual daytime crowds.
We’re also glad you mentioned:
The Food: Sampling local flavors at the market is a must!
The Logistics: It’s helpful for future guests to know about the 16km distance and the short stints on main roads. You're spot on—Bangkok traffic looks intimidating, but the slower pace in busy areas actually makes it quite manageable for confident riders.
Guide Bee: We’ll be sure to pass your kind words along to him! He’ll be so happy to know his local knowledge made your trip better.
Safe Travels!
Thank you again for recommending us to the Tripadvisor community. We hope the memories of that "magical" night ride stay with you for a long time.
Happy cycling and safe travels on the rest of your journey!

Best way to get to know the city
We had an amazing bike tour through Bangkok with Tor (guide). We went to see the iconic places (temples, ferry, flowers market, and more) in the city and get to see how locals live. We even had dinner in a local restaurant with amazing thai food. Tor was very friendly, explaining every little detail and answering all our questions. This was the best way to get to know the city on our 1st day here.

Up there with the very best!
An amazing experience seeing Bangkok by night. Not just the temples and flower market but some narrow alleyways and streets away from the tourist trails. Cooler in the evening but still warm enough for shorts and tee shirts. We had a guide in front of us and one behind and always felt safe despite the traffic.
Up was an excellent guide. She is both knowledgeable about Bangkok and passionate about it sharing her infectious enthusiasm. Up also has a great sense of humour. We stopped for a meal part way through the evening which was excellent.
You need to be reasonably confident on a bike to enjoy it.
Thank you for an excellent evening and thank you to Up for being a great guide.

Pure experience
Our teens were enthusiastic about the starting point with open internet.
The backyard where we received the wheels in good condition was a bit suspicious.
We were accompanied by 2 guides. The varied interesting evening tour led "Tom". He navigated us safely through alleys we would never have ventured into alone and took free photos of the entire tour. “Thatipoom Donsomai (Best)”, who drove after, explained the sights interesting and entertaining. For our questions he took time and answered them very understandably. We were still restrained in the tasting at the market, but the included dinner was a highlight, since probably no tourist dares to eat alone and it was so delicious here.
We are totally enthusiastic about the offer, which offered us very authentic insights. The T'HB were well laid out it was more than worth it!
On the other hand, through our travel provider MeierWeltreisen/GoVacation we were fobbed off with a boring tourist program and little explanation!

Bangkok Bike Tour with Sunset and Dinner
Very impressive
We did a 4 hour tour of Bangkok to places you probably wouldn't have seen otherwise. It was the highlight of these two-week holidays for us. Super Guides Amm and Tom. The tour truly relaxed and not strenuous. Incl. Dinner in a small simple restaurant with a local population. Great experience.
