Delicious, entertaining & educational
Of all the tours I’ve taken this was the best, food & guide wise. Amanda was so personable & knowledgeable, she accommodated everyone. The culture aspect was very interesting. It is pricey, but so worth it. I was so full afterwards & would definitely do it again!

Just Book It! It was great.
We loved this food tour. It combined a history lesson on the Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel with amazing food from 5 different restaurants within the hotel. Our guide Amanda made sure every guest had their say. Also, the chefs at each restaurant presented each dish/cocktail/wine pairing and told us a little about themselves. So interesting!

The food and the location...
The food and the location were first class. The chefs explained in detail about how the food was prepared and why they selected the pairing of the drinks. They were available for questions and made everyone feel welcomed and accommodated food allergies. The guide did a good job explaining the history of the castle. However, parking was very expensive and we asked the guide about having the parking ticket validated, she ducked around the issue and didn't really want to see if she could help the group with that request. The parking should have been validated or at least state that parking is an additional charge in the description of the event.
Operator response
Dear Sherry,
Thank you for your review. We really appreciate your feedback about the parking and frankly, we totally agree and have been lobbying for validation for our guests. You are right, parking is pricey at $10 to $15 per hour near the Banff Springs. We do send a note to the guests who purchase tickets outlining free parking on Spray Avenue or the option to take the ROAM bus. Sometimes when tickets are purchased through a third party like Viator, that note might get missed. Please accept my apologies for this.
Also, please know how happy we are that you enjoyed the tour itself, the tastings, the team and our guide. We appreciate you including our Eat the Castle tour in your plans for Banff.

Great tour. Food was excellent. Tracy, our tour guide was very knowledgeable about the Fairmount Banff Springs Hotel and gave us some interesting facts about the hotel and functions held there. The chef's were great and explained the food and how they prepared the dishes. Great tour. Highly recommend. Tom S. August 2026.
