We recently visited Paracas as cruise passengers and spent the day with JD Adventure Travel visiting the Ballestas Islands and Paracas National Reserve. It was an absolutely wonderful experience from beginning to end. The Ballestas Islands were incredible. We saw large numbers of South American sea lions, Humboldt penguins, pelicans, cormorants, Peruvian boobies and other seabirds, along with the dramatic rock formations surrounding the islands. Seeing the famous Paracas Candelabra from the water was another memorable part of the experience. The boat portion was especially enjoyable for wildlife viewing and photography. The captain did a wonderful job positioning the boat so everyone had opportunities to see the wildlife and take pictures. The Paracas National Reserve was completely different but equally spectacular. The desert landscape meeting the ocean was breathtaking, and Playa Roja was one of the most memorable sights of the day. The red sand against the surrounding desert and coastline created an almost otherworldly landscape. What was particularly important to us as cruise passengers was the organization and attention to timing. JD Adventure Travel understood that we had a ship to return to and handled the transportation and schedule very carefully. Communication was excellent, transportation was comfortable, and everyone we dealt with was professional, friendly and knowledgeable. As someone who has been cruising for many years, I know that an excursion can be wonderful in itself, but the logistics are just as important when you're visiting a port for only a limited amount of time. JD Adventure Travel did an excellent job on both. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience and would absolutely recommend JD Adventure Travel to other travelers visiting Paracas, particularly cruise passengers looking for a well-organized experience combining wildlife, scenery and the incredible landscapes of the Paracas region. If Ballestas Islands and Paracas National Reserve are on your itinerary, JD Adventure Travel is definitely a company worth considering.

This service is designed for cruise ship passengers who prefer to take the cruise shuttle bus to Paracas. You must make your own way and meet at our office, which is just 2 minutes from the shuttle bus drop-off point. Please arrive 30 minutes before your scheduled tour time. We will contact you the day before your tour to ensure everything is well coordinated. The tour starts from our office in Paracas, where we’ll then transfer you to the port to board the boat for your visit to the Ballestas Islands, home to sea lions, Humboldt penguins, seabirds, and the mysterious Candelabro geoglyph. After the tour, you’ll return to our office, where your excursion ends. From there, you are free to explore Paracas town and return to your ship at your own pace using the shuttle bus service at the time of your choice.

Outstanding Shore Excursion — Ballestas Islands & Paracas Reserve

Amazing Range of Wildlife!
Take this boat excursion to see a wide range of wildlife plus a candelabra sand sculpture. Boat ride is a bit rough but well worth it. You'll see sea lions up VERY close, penguins, all sorts of other birds, starfish - the list goes on and on. Tour is just two hours and only about half of that is actual viewing time but it's jam packed. The one to take for wildlife viewing!

The only bad thing they tried to scam us for 6.00 more but your great lot of animals they say you could just get on boat for 25.00
