Paris French Bakery Experience Le Marais

Description
Discover what makes French pastries truly special by stepping inside a working Parisian boulangerie — not just to watch, but to bake like the artisans do. Proudly named Viator Experience Award Winner in 2023 & 2024, this tour is recognized among the top-rated family experiences for guest satisfaction and authenticity. During this 2-hour experience, you and your family will learn how iconic French breads and pastries are created from scratch, in the very place where locals buy their daily baguettes. Unlike tourist-style demos, this visit offers real behind-the-scenes access to the production area — where dough is mixed, folded, laminated, and baked before sunrise. Children and adults roll up their sleeves to: • Shape baguettes and rustic breads • Roll their own croissant Kept intentionally small (max. 9 guests), this award-winning experience is intimate, family-friendly, and deeply authentic — a chance to step behind the counter and access a world normally hidden from the public.

We were so excited for this bakery cooking/tour. Our guide was lovely and knowledgeable, but the entire experience was only 1:15 minutes as it started at 11:15 and ended promptly at 12:30. We paid $400 for a family of 4 to participate. Next time we would spend our money elsewhere as it felt very rushed and lacking in experience. I would highly recommend reading the negative reviews prior to booking as I did not expect this however our experience matched other negative reviews as well. We love taking cooking classes and experiencing the culture of other countries. We were not provided recipes in English or learned anything to replicate at home. We basically paid to play with dough and walk around the back of a bakery.
Arthur, our guide from the boulangerie, was a most engaging young baker. He explained everything very well and interacted with each one of us. I happened to be in a group of other attendees who were especially friendly and fun to be with. We learned the technique to make a baguette, croissant, and a small breakfast treat. We were able to see all of the machinery now used in order to be able to produce 1000 baguettes a day for just this one bakery! Arthur was very well informed and shared some history and lore about the business. I would highly recommend this experience.
Great fun! Our guide was fun and knowledgeable. Our two-hour session flew by, and we walked away with tons of baguettes and financiers 😊
Great for families. Penelope was wonderful with my very shy 6 year old daughter. Such a fun hands on experience.
Great morning with an exceptional guide - Penelope had exactly the right vibe; knowledgeable, fun and made the whole experience really enjoyable.
Great experience! Penelope was super patient and very knowledgeable! We made little French cookies, baguettes and croissants! Excellent experience!
“Artur” the host was great and the host bakery was pretty cool. In an old building. Walked through all the aspects of bread/croissant/financier making; walked out with a bunch of bread. Fun way to experience making a staple of French culture.
Wow, this was an awesome French experience. As our guide said, “baguette is oxygen” to the French so what better way to explore than learn to make it. You shape the dough, mix patisserie, and fold croissant. But best of all you walk away with it all (and knowledge). Yum and thank you!!!
This was such a great experience for our whole family, including our 10 year old. The group was small and hands on, and our guide was engaging, kind and so inclusive, making sure that a representative from each mini group there got a chance to participate in each step. I would absolutely recommend this to anyone!
Amazing class with hands on experience and a wonderful guide! We made baguettes, cookies and croissants. Perfect for kids.
