Description
Auckland is known as the City of Sails, but some think it should be called the City of Volcanoes! Gain insight into Auckland's unique volcanic geology and explore it's rich Maori history on this full-day tour from Auckland. In the morning, explore the summits and craters of 4 of Auckland's youngest volcanoes. Take a break in the city for lunch (own cost). In the afternoon, see the largest volcanic explosion crater in Auckland, walk along an old lava-strewn coastline, enjoy an ice cream or coffee at Takapuna Beach, and explore an old military fort in an extinct volcano at Devonport. Admire panoramic views of Auckland from many angles, and learn about native plant and wildlife. Option to take the ferry back to the central city at the end of the tour to get out on Auckland's famous harbour (included), or be dropped off by your guide. Please note, volcanoes visited are inactive.

Wonderful Tour
Jerome was a fantastic guide. You can tell that he is excited to share Auckland’s history and natural beauty. This is a long tour (about five miles total walking and some up and down around the craters in the morning portion) but it is worth every minute.

Volcanoes, Views of Auckland, and Meat Pies
This is a volcano tour that also provides the best views of Auckland. You will see views of Auckland and the bay that are breathtaking. The company could run this tour as: Breathtaking Views of Auckland then just talk about volcanoes. Jerome is very knowledgeable about Volcanoes, Auckland, and meat pies (ask for a stop at the bakery for meat pies). Wonderful day with him.

It was nice getting...
It was nice getting outside the city and learning about the different volcanoes surrounding the area. At the end of the tour we were able to take the ferry from Davenport back to downtown Auckland. We had a wonderful day.

This excursion is a must!
Great excursion! Very knowledgeable and friendly team. Mike went above and beyond by dropping us off at our hotel and arranging the next leg of the excursion to be picked up at our hotel. This was great as our excursion started as soon as we got off the ship and had our luggage with us.

Great excursion!
Mark was great! He is very knowledgeable and friendly. We learned a lot about Auckland and all of the volcanoes! I wouldn't have guessed there were so many all around us before the tour! Beautiful views and photo ops! Do the full day tour if time allows! The morning and afternoon tours are very different!

Beautiful Auckland
Very knowledgeable guide. Comfortable vehicle. Stunning scenery. Lots of walking and climbing so not for the old or infirm.

That's good. I love it.
The guide was friendly and professional and had a great experience. We turned five volcanoes and looked at the 19th-century military installations, and went under the fort to see the internal structure, which was nice. Some of the attractions aren't very well known. I don't really know without a guide.

Very nice review of the volcanos surrounding Auckland. Spectacular views. Out of the beaten path trails.
