Itinerary

15 min

The Arch of Hadrian, most commonly known in Greek as Hadrian's Gate, is a monumental gateway resembling – in some respects – a Roman triumphal arch. It spanned an ancient road from the center of Athens, Greece, to the complex of structures on the eastern side of the city that included the Temple of Olympian Zeus.

10 min

Lively Monastiraki is known for iconic landmarks including the ruins of Hadrian’s Library, the Ancient Agora and the rebuilt Stoa of Attalos, with a museum exhibiting Athenian artifacts. Monastiraki Flea Market is a jumble of shops selling artisanal soaps, handmade sandals and souvenir T-shirts. The surrounding streets are crammed with traditional tavernas and restaurants, many with Acropolis views. Include 15 minutes stop and tasting a greek Souvlaki

15 min

The Panathenaic Stadium is a multi-purpose stadium in Athens, Greece. One of the main historic attractions of Athens, it is the only stadium in the world built entirely of marble.

15 min

The Temple of Olympian Zeus, also known as the Olympieion or Columns of the Olympian Zeus, is a former colossal temple at the center of the Greek capital Athens. It was dedicated to "Olympian" Zeus, a name originating from his position as head of the Olympian gods.

15 min

The Changing of the Guards in Athens Greece: Every Sunday morning at 11 am, people gather in Syntagma Square to watch the official changing of the guards, the military unit whose members stand proudly in perfect stillness in front of the Hellenic Parliament.

Pass by

Thiseio or Thissio (Greek: Θησείο, pronounced [θiˈsio]) is a traditional neighbourhood in the old city of Athens, Greece, northwest of the Acropolis, and surrounded by the archaeological sites of the Agora, Keramikos and Pnyx. The name refers to the Temple of Hephaestus, which was mistakenly known as Thiseion, in reference to Theseus, the mythical king of Athens. The area is famous for its many pedestrian streets, Acropolis views, archaeological sites, churches, synagogues, cafés, open terraces and cultural meeting points.[1][2][3] Thiseio is served by the nearby Thiseio metro station is connected to the other neighbourhoods of the old city of Athens through a network of pedestrian streets passing across the major archaeological sites.

Pass by

The Acropolis of Athens is an ancient citadel located on a rocky outcrop above the city of Athens and contains the remains of several ancient buildings of great architectural and historical significance, the most famous being the Parthenon. The word acropolis is from the Greek words ἄκρον (akron, "highest point, extremity") and πόλις (polis, "city"). 15 minutes stop.

15 min

The National Garden[1][2] (formerly the Royal Garden) (Greek: Εθνικός Κήπος)(it was named Royal Garden until 1974) [3] is a public park of 15.5 hectares (38 acres) in the center of the Greek capital, Athens. It is located between the districts of Kolonaki and Pangrati, directly behind the Greek Parliament building (The Old Palace) and continues to the South to the area where the Zappeion is located, across from the Panathenaiko or Kalimarmaro Olympic Stadium of the 1896 Olympic Games. The Garden also encloses some ancient ruins, column drums and Corinthian capitals of columns, mosaics, and other features. On the Southeast side are the busts of Ioannis Kapodistrias, the first governor of Greece, and of the Philhellene Jean-Gabriel Eynard. On the South side are the busts of the celebrated Greek poets Dionysios Solomos, author of the Greek National Hymn, and Aristotelis Valaoritis.

15 min

Pláka (Greek: Πλάκα) is the old historical neighborhood of Athens, clustered around the northern and eastern slopes of the Acropolis, and incorporating labyrinthine streets and neoclassical architecture. Plaka is built on top of the residential areas of the ancient town of Athens. It is known as the "Neighborhood of the Gods" due to its proximity to the Acropolis and its many archaeological sites

15 min

The National Observatory of Athens (NOA; Greek: Εθνικό Αστεροσκοπείο Αθηνών) is a research institute in Athens, Greece. Founded in 1842, it is the oldest research foundation in Greece, as it was the first scientific research institute built after Greece became independent in 1829, and one of the oldest research institutes in Southern Europe

15 min

Until the early 1990s, Psyri, one of the oldest quarters of Athens, had an ill reputation, but it has now become one of the most fashionable and trendy choices in the centre of Athens for accommodation, entertainment and food hospitality. The central square of Psyri is called "Heroes square" (πλατεία Ηρώων, plateia Iroon), because the streets leading to it carry names of heroes of the Greek War of Independence (e.g. Karaiskakis, Miaoulis). In the era of the 'old Athens' (namely, during the last quarter of the 19th century), the nickname "plateia of Heroes" was a derisive reference to koutsavakides (κουτσαβάκηδες), who used it as their hangout.

They no-showed and didn't reply to any calls or messages

Ignored my messages on the day and then I waited around for 30mins, my calls just went to voicemail. Viator couldn't contact them either and eventually had to refund me. It was annoying as I only had an afternoon free in Athens so I missed out on my one chance for sightseeing.

Operator response

Hi ,we are very sorry for the misunderstanding, we have canceled one day before the tour because of the bad weather and refund you the money . We also have send you a message one day before but you didnt answered. thank you

Bikes were a bunch of...

Bikes were a bunch of different types with different capabilities. Throttle only, peddle assist, intermittment electric etc. Some had very fat tires that made them difficult to turn short radius. Streets, sidewalks and paths we used were too crowded to have bikes on them in addition to all the pedestrians. My wife and another fell off their bikes trying to navigate thru the crowds.

Operator response

Dear Joel thank your for review. Before someone book our tour he can read our Inclusions & exclusions that we use different e-bikes for all body type. The fat tyre bikes helps for the slippery roads and with the throttle you can navigate the bike better where the streets are too crowded . I am sorry for the crowded strrets but its the only path we can use ...Maybe next time you can choose other bike types . Thank you

Fun on 2 wheels

We had a great time! However, we made the mistake of booking for a Sunday evening - not the best idea! Sunday nights are hectic in Athens - apparently everyone goes out for dinner so it was super busy everywhere and cycling through the crowds was very nerve-wracking! A bell on the bike would have been helpful! Overall, we had a great experience but regret forgetting to get our guide to take a pic of us on our bikes!

Old unreliable bikes

Our tour guide was excellent — very knowledgeable about the area and took us to many interesting places. However, the bikes left a lot to be desired. They were quite old, and the external batteries were mounted rather sloppily, constantly draining and disconnecting, which meant they had to be swapped out several times. The biggest issue came when a tire blew out, forcing us to stop at the center and wait while the guide returned to the shop for a replacement bike. Unfortunately, the tour time wasn’t extended to make up for the delay, which was disappointing.

Operator response

Dear our bikes are the most new and we use most fatbikes we bought the last 2 years . I understand we had a battery problem and unfortunate moment with the flat tyre . Finally we visited all sites because we skipped some roads with traffic and crowed...

Bikes need lights at night!

First want to say that our guy Constantinos was excellent! So informative, fun and really in tune with the needs of our small private group. we saw some awesome sites and bike tours are always a great way to see a city!! That being said, the only reason I gave it 3 stars is because it was a night bike tour and our bikes had no lights on them. We’ve done night bike tours before and I know what a difference it makes… There were some areas that were so dark. It was downright dangerous to drive without lights. Hoping the owner of the tour reads this and makes changes…I’d be happy to change my review because everything else was great.

Operator response

Dear Stephnee thank you for your review. All bikes have a light , have tou asked the guide how you can turn the lights on ?

Wonderful way to see Athens with a wonderful guide!

We had a wonderful tour! We were able to go around and see all the sights so easily with the electric bikes. Labros shared a lot of information about Athens and let us go at our own pace to take it all in. He even gave us a dinner recommendation for the next night that turned out to be our favorite meal in Athens! I would recommend this tour 10/10!

Who knew we’d see so much

We were so happy that we did this tour. While not accessing or walking around the acropolis, we had many different photo stops and the other sites we saw made this an amazing tour, we no the observatories, main gate Zeus temple, royal gardens, Olympic stadium, Olympic village, many churches, the library. There is no way we would see these in a bus or walking. The e-bike was the way to go. Ladris was a wealth of knowledge and history. He answered questions about history, but also about modern day free. Amazing tour and so so happy we did it.

Kept the tour interesting and not boring

Great bike tour that took us to see all the highlights in Athens! Much cooler in the summer to ride an EBike than to walk and you can see so much more. Our guide was accommodating and stopped for water & a gyro when we wanted a break. He gave us tips on the best gelato & gyro places as well. I would strongly recommend.
