Itinerary
Your adventure begins with a convenient pickup right from your hotel or apartment. If your accommodation is in a pedestrian only area, no worries, we’ll arrange a nearby, easy to find meeting point. As we drive toward the main attractions, we’ll pass by several of Athens most significant highlights. Along the way, your driver guide or tour leader will bring these sights to life with fascinating stories.
As we continue, your driver will take you along the stunning Athenian Riviera, where the city meets the sea. You’ll enjoy the view of beautiful coastal districts such as Alimos, the lively seaside town of Glyfada, and the elegant Vouliagmeni, known for its crystal waters.
At the beautiful Lake Vouliagmeni, travelers will discover a hidden natural wonder just outside Athens. This unique lake is fed by both the sea and underground thermal springs, creating crystal clear waters that remain warm year round. Surrounded by dramatic limestone cliffs and lush greenery, it’s a peaceful spot away from the city. During the stop, guests can enjoy the stunning scenery, take photos of the emerald waters, or simply relax in the calm atmosphere while the guide will explain everything to them. It’s the perfect introduction to the coastal beauty of the Athenian Riviera before continuing the journey to Cape Sounion.
At Cape Sounion Beach, travelers can relax by the waters of the Aegean Sea, right beneath the cliffs that host the Temple of Poseidon. This peaceful beach offers the perfect opportunity to enjoy a coffee, taste fresh local food and the catch of the day at a seaside taverna, or even take a refreshing swim with the temple in view. The setting combines natural beauty with a sense of history, making it a truly memorable stop along the Athenian Riviera.
At the majestic Temple of Poseidon in Cape Sounion, travelers will step back into Ancient Greece while enjoying one of the most stunning coastal views in the country. Perched high on the cliffs above the Aegean Sea, this 5th-century BC temple is dedicated to the god of the sea and is one of Athens most iconic landmarks after the Acropolis. With your guide, you’ll learn the history of the temple and the nearby areas, along with the myths of King Aegeus and the hero Theseus. In addition, for those who participate in the sunset tour, visitors witness the sun as it dips below the horizon and the moon rising beside the Temple of Poseidon.
On the way back, guests who chose the sunset tour will enjoy the beautiful view of Athens as it lights up at night, a magical way to end your evening.

This was a "lightly guided" tour with Katarina as our guide. In addition, the van was driven by a separate person. Katarina was very charming and enthusiastic. She provided interesting details about the Temple and also shared interesting tidbits along the way and made the trip fun. I really liked the fact that this tour provides enough time at every location (the beach and at the cape), and does not feel rushed.
The trip was truly relaxing and absolutely worth the money. My parents are 80 years old and no problem to follow up with our steps, which I was worried a bit at the beginning. It was a wonderful experience from beginning to end, but the breathtaking sunset at the end was especially spectacular and made the whole experience unforgettable. The tour guider Katerina was really nice and helpful.
This tour was phenomenal. Theo, our guide, was super engaging and very knowledgeable. He provided a wealth of knowledge about the temple, Greece, mythology, and restaurant recommendations. We traveled with a 10-year-old and a six year-old and they enjoy the entire tour.
Our driver, Theo (aka Teddy), was amazing. Very, energetic, knowledgeable and engaging. Treated us like family!
Ready... Teddy! Feta... Cheese! This trip was a highlight of our stay in Athens. Teddy / Theo was a fantastic guide filled with interesting information who gave our trip a wonderful, friendly vibe. My teenage kids particularly enjoyed the ride. We stopped to swim for about an hour, then made our way to Cape Sounion and the temple, which was just gorgeous at sunset. Highly recommend this trip with Teddy.
Teddy was the best, informative, engaging, and brought us together as a group. Never a dull moment and we learned a lot about Greece, it’s history in relation to the ancient gods (Poseidon & Athena) as well as Attica/Athens and the temples. Time worth spent seeing and learning! The sunset from Poseidon temple was outstanding! Definitely take those trip!
Teddy our tour guide was the highlight of our trip. Funny, engaging, and full of interesting facts. He showed us all how to take photos like an influencer! This was our last night in Athens and it was well spent. You have enough time on the beach to have dinner or swim if you so wish. And you have time to explore the Temple of Poseidon before sunset. Teddy knew the drill and was able to coach us all on how to avoid lines and get the most out of our time. The tour leaves late enough that you have time to do things during the day or to go after work if you are there for business. They will pick up and drop off from your hotel which is very convenient.
Had an awesome time. It was an amazing trip, very well organized to some beautiful locations. Theo made it really worthwhile keeping us all engaged with his great sense of humor. Theo also took some great pictures and provided wonderful insights about the history and culture making the entire trip an unforgettable experience !!
Tassos is an amazingly knowledgable tour guide who made the whole trip very fun. We barely felt the drive at all with his history stories and question/answer rounds! The swim stop was very fun as well. Overall, it was a relaxed well organized tour and the best of our trip so far! We enjoyed this tour the most compared to the Acropolis and others we've visited.
Great experience with my host Theo! He’s such a kind person who guides you all the time and explain a lot of things! He’s friendly and make the tour so happy. We’re so glad to take this tour with him! He took us to the lake and explained everything, took us to the beach where we ate desserts with an amazing view of the sea, explained about Poseidon and gave us enough time to enjoy the sunset.
