Explore Athens in an unconventional way on this fascinating street art walking tour, led by a local artist. In recent years, Athens has become the site of some of Europe’s best street art, with more than 2,000 viewable works around the city. You’ll see a variety of neighborhoods and learn about each of them through the artwork, with your artist guide as your docent. This is a small-group tour limited to 12 people, so you’ll have the opportunity to ask questions as you go.

Over the past couple of decades, Athens’ Gazi district has seen an incredible amount of development, becoming the new cool place to be in the city. It’s now full of restaurants, cafés, cinemas, bars, music venues, and, of course, art – the old city gasworks has been turned into a museum/cultural center named “Technopolis”, which may be unique in Europe.
Artisan accessories, exotic spice bazaars, and bohemian cafe-bars, they’re all part of the village vibe of this must-see neighbourhood, which features some of the best street art in town!

Meeting point had changed as per our details. We enjoyed experience but as it was 34 degrees maybe operators could have started earlier. Also felt we needed a rest so maybe refreshment stop would have helped. We walked for 2 hrs 15 mins and were exhausted from heat and didn’t complete the tour which was to go for another 90 minutes.
Although I was in Athens for work I managed to get on this guided tour. I've been to a number of cities with similar street art areas but I have never had a guide - it makes a real difference. It was a small group led by Nikos, he is very knowledgeable about the artists, the history, techniques used and how artists have developed their styles over the years. This meant I could spot those artists work in other areas - Ino is prolific in Athens! Highly recommend taking the time to do this tour and as another review suggested do this in your first few days as you pick up so much more because of it.
A beautiful & interesting tour that I can highly recommend as an activity in Athens. You don't just see street art, but also different neighborhoods, hidden corners, and the sometimes rough, sometimes beautiful sides of the various districts. The guide Nikolas is open-minded, friendly, informed, and enthusiastic about the topic and the people who are there. He is engaged and present. Ask your questions, you will get answers! Sure, you can look at the graffiti on your own (my teenage son's argument for not coming along ;) ) - but UNDERSTANDING it is much better through conversation and with information about it. Anyone looking for an experience instead of getting info from AI or Google will get their money's worth here. Even at 37 degrees it was nice - if you are there in the summer, don't forget a hat, water, and sneakers. Many thanks for these beautiful 3 hours and the many insights!

We took the street art tour with Nikos and it turned out to be the perfect introduction to the city. Rather than simply pointing out murals, Nikos explained the artists behind the work, the different styles, and the social and historical context that shaped Athens' street art scene. By the end of the tour, we were recognizing artists and understanding the stories their work was telling. He even followed up with a guide featuring many of the artists we had seen so we could continue learning after the tour. The tour was also a great way to get to know neighborhoods we probably would not have explored on our own. Walking through areas like Psyrri, Kerameikos, and Gazi gave us a much better sense of the city's character beyond the major archaeological sites. Nikos was knowledgeable, friendly, and happy to answer our many questions. His enthusiasm for both Athens and its street art made the experience engaging without ever feeling like a lecture. If you enjoy art, history, or simply want to better understand modern Athens, I highly recommend this tour. It changed the way we saw the city and gave us an appreciation for neighborhoods and artists that we otherwise would have walked right past.

This was a great tour ! Nikos was an exceptional guide! He was personable, engaging and informative. We had a wonderful debate on “what is street art”? He went out of his way to engage every person in discussion of the art as well as our life’s in general. I would highly recommend this tour! I would recommend doing it the first days in town as you end up noticing so much more later when walking in your own.

More than just a really good Street Art tour. We have done street art tours in other cities and many walking tours. Nikos was excellent. A subject matter expert on street art, the city, its history and Greek history generally. So we got to see and learn about lots of street art, whilst also learning a little about the city's history both ancient and recent. Nikos is a good listener and quickly learned what interested us most and adapted (a little) his delivery to suit. Highly recommend.
This was an excellent tour, guided by Nikos. It absolutely lived up to my expectations, and provided great insight to art and neighborhoods that we would not have otherwise seen. Nikos is extremely knowledgeable of the street art scene, and provided interesting commentary and context to what we were seeing. He was engaging as a guide, kept everyone involved and moved the tour at very good pace. Also, it was a nice counterbalance to the time spent on Ancient Greece and visiting archeological sites.
