Michael was a great tour guide and took us to off the beaten path restaurants, took us through great neighborhoods and selected great dishes. He also shared some nice stories about local culture.
So glad to hear Michael made your tour such a memorable one — it sounds like the perfect mix of hidden restaurants, vibrant neighborhoods, and cultural stories that brought the city to life!
Our private food tour through Athens was a perfect way to experience the city through its flavors, traditions, and hospitality. We started off with a stop at a fun and casual spot called Elvis, where we enjoyed some souvlaki — perfectly grilled, flavorful, and served with a side of local charm. Next, we visited a traditional taverna where we were treated to a classic Greek salad made with fresh, vibrant ingredients and topped with a generous slice of feta. But the real star of that stop was the deep-fried feta cheese, drizzled with honey and sesame — a heavenly combination of crispy, creamy, salty, and sweet. To end the tour on a high note, we were taken to a charming café for traditional Greek coffee and a delicious dessert that perfectly captured the essence of Greek sweets. It was the perfect way to slow down and savor the moment. Throughout the tour, our guide was friendly, knowledgeable, and passionate about Greek food and culture. He shared local insights, explained the origins of each dish, and made sure we were having a fantastic time every step of the way. We left full, happy, and with a deeper appreciation for Greek cuisine!

Our flight was delayed coming into Athens by over three hours but our guide Natasha was so understanding and patient and adjusted our tour time accordingly. She met us right on schedule at our hotel and we set off on a wondrous journey on foot. We went inside the Panaghia Kapnikarea Church, a gem right in the middle of a bustling center. Next was a walk through Monastiraki to Tetraconch Church to the Roman Agora. Then a little delicious break for a treat at a hilltop restaurant with a great view. We walked through Jacqueline de Romilly Square to Ano Petralona and had a veritable feast at a charming restaurant there. Natasha kept us entertained with lively conversation and the time just flew by! What a great tour to kick off our trip to Greece with Natasha, our lovely guide.
It's fantastic to hear that Natasha was understanding and patient, and that she adjusted the tour to accommodate your schedule. We're glad you had the opportunity to explore some of Athens' hidden gems and enjoy delicious treats along the way. Thanks for choosing City Unscripted and here's to more great adventures!
Loved that it was totally tailored. We ended up eating a late lunch that day so we weren't that hungry for our food tour at 5.30pm so our guide worked around that and showed and spoke about lots of other places in Athens. We didn't go to all the food stops he had planned but that didn't phase him. He made it very special for us. Thanks Sotirios
