Itinerary
Driving from Piraeus Port, you'll pass by Pasalimani, a picturesque harbor in the heart of Piraeus. Renowned as one of the largest and most prominent marinas in the area, Pasalimani offers top-notch docking facilities for luxury yachts, sailing boats, and various vessels.
Continuing our drive, we reach Mikrolimano, a charming harbor similar to Pasalimani. This scenic spot is ideal for a brief 10-minute photo stop, offering stunning views of the Athenian coast and the city of Athens from afar.
The Acropolis is one of the world’s most iconic archaeological sites in the world, perched above the city center of Athens. It houses the remains of several historic buildings, with the Parthenon standing as the most renowned. Guests will have 1 hour of free time to explore the Acropolis on their own, as the guide will not enter the site. Those who prefer not to visit the Acropolis, they will be able to visit two nearby attractions located just a few steps away, the Areopagus Hill and the Herodion Theater. The guide will accompany visitors to these sites, providing the perfect opportunity to capture stunning photographs of the iconic Acropolis from afar. PLEASE NOTE that the Acropolis features steps, uneven surfaces, and uphill paths, so a moderate level of walking is required.
The Panathenaic Stadium, also known as Kallimarmaro, is a stunning ancient Greek stadium renowned for its historical significance as the site of the Panathenaic Games. This iconic landmark celebrates ancient Greek athleticism and culture and is a must-see attraction for visitors exploring Athens. During our tour, we will make a 15-minute stop outside the stadium to take photos, admire the marble architecture, and soak in the atmosphere of this historic site.
The Hellenic Presidential Mansion is a neoclassical building that serves as the residence of the president of the Hellenic Republic. It’s an elegant building with neoclassical architecture surrounded by the famous Presidential Guards, the Evzones, where you will have the opportunity to witness the iconic Changing of the Guards ceremony (if time permits). Take a 15-minute stop to relax under the shade of the lush greenery of the National Garden of Athens, while enjoying the surroundings and taking photos with the guards.
As we make our way toward the city center, you will pass by the Arch of Hadrian, a monumental gateway built nearly 1,900 years ago in honor of the Roman Emperor Hadrian. This iconic historic landmark once marked the symbolic boundary between ancient Greek Athens and the Roman city, showcasing the city’s rich cultural evolution and the lasting influence of Roman rule.
Along the way, you will also pass by the Temple of Olympian Zeus, one of the largest and most impressive temples of ancient Greece. Dedicated to Zeus, the king of the gods, this monumental structure once symbolized the power, wealth, and grandeur of ancient Athens. Even in its partially preserved state, the towering columns provide a striking glimpse into the city’s glorious past, reflecting the extraordinary engineering skill and deep religious devotion of ancient Greek civilization.
Continue to Syntagma Square, the central and most important square in Athens, situated directly in front of the Hellenic Parliament and the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. Surrounded by historic landmarks, elegant neoclassical buildings, and bustling streets, Syntagma Square offers visitors a unique window into the political, cultural, and social life of Athens.
As we make our way toward Monastiraki & Plaka, we pass by the Athenian Trilogy, a stunning ensemble of three neoclassical buildings that highlight the elegance and grandeur of the 19th-century. The Athenian Trilogy consists of: 1)National Library of Greece (home to Greece’s priceless collections of books and manuscripts) 2)Academy of Athens (the country’s premier institution for scholarly research and education) 3)University of Athens (one of Greece’s oldest and most prestigious universities) Depending on time and traffic conditions, we will either make a brief photo stop at the Athenian Trilogy or simply pass by while enjoying views from the vehicle.
Your final stop will be at the historic neighborhoods of Monastiraki & Plaka, located in the heart of Athens. You will have approximately 1 hour of free time to explore the areas on foot. Stroll around the picturesque alleys and charming narrow streets, discover local boutiques and souvenir shops, enjoy a delicious Greek meal at a traditional taverna, or simply soak in the atmosphere of two of Athens’ most vibrant neighborhoods. After your visit, you will comfortably return to your cruise ship, concluding a day full of history, culture, and authentic Greek charm. Enjoy!

Nikki was brilliant - so informative and very well organised. We had the perfect mix of history, sightseeing and free time
Great itinerary allows you to see so many city highlights plus the acropolis. Nikki was so knowledgeable of the history of the sites and buildings and was fantastic.
The guide is excellent. Patient is very kind, great explanations. Company, 1 hour delay to pick up and does not meet contact.
Samantha was a great guide with a good balance of history and practical information. The tour was a good balance of riding and stoping to see sights. The guide and driver were well coordinated so we never waited more than 5 minutes for the coach to show up for us.
It was worth every penny! The guide was amazing, the bus was a life saver during the heat. We saw so much during the time we spent in port. The only thing I would change is more time at the market, it was a bit hectic to find somewhere to eat and explore the market stalls.
Great tour! Samantha was very informative. Our driver had a very comfortable bus. Beautiful history to see. Would’ve liked to have a bit more spare time to shop and walk the streets incorporated.
Tour was excellent. Right amount of time at each spot. Car service was great with ice cold Mercedes mini bus. Guide was great; knowledgeable and not friendly. Highly recommend.
Slightly late picking us up but someone did contact us, expect someone was late at the terminal before ours. Good day out lots to see
