Assisi is a beautiful and quaint town, which I highly recommend to visit. We took the train from Rome for the day. Unfortunately, this tour lasted longer than the 3 hours and we didn't even have time to get lunch or browse in the many shops. The WW II connection and stories were interesting, however, I don't feel that it was enough to warrant a separate tour. Our guide was informative, however, when she answered some of our questions, it was clear that her English was not good enough to fully comprehend what we were asking.
I feel that this would be better paired with a general tour of Assisi, including the Basilica. Also, it was a bit tacky that when we went into the museum featuring WW
II artifacts, we had to pay the admission price, which was minimal. This should have just been added to be included in the tour price.

I point out that you arrived by train and visited the Basilica of St. Francis by yourselves, and then crossed the city to reach the meeting point outlined in the tour description by walking uphill through the entire city. It is my habit to check where my guests are precisely to make the tour as smooth and pleasant as possible, and that is exactly what I did with you as well. You seemed almost afraid to let me know where you really were. You arrived already tired at your appointment with me, and it is not my fault.
I am not disputing my language skills since I was particularly tired that day, but I do find it curious, to say the least, that I was nevertheless given a good tip in the face of these remonstrances just as I do not understand your criticism of the payment of the museum entrance fee since it is clearly stated in the tour description.

The guide was informative about Assisi, however her talk was a bit disjointed. When we asked questions, she didn’t always understand what we meant. We were on a time constraint due to the train schedule. I would’ve rather had time to explore the beautiful town.

I am sorry that you felt disoriented and that the day did not go exactly as you imagined. You have chosen a very specific tour that does not plan to devote time even to the great artistic emergencies such as the Basilica of St. Francis, and the part of the city that we could have added to our tour ( I think of the basilica of St. Clare) was unfortunately closed due to a crossbow tournament that later did not take place because of the rain.

Hidden secrets of Assisi
My husband and I had a private tour with Monia for 2 hours. We had seen the movie “Assisi, The Underground” a year ago and we wanted to come see and hear first hand how the heroes in this town were able to save so many Jewish lives during WWII. What an amazing story of ordinary people being willing to risk everything to help others in danger. Monia was wonderful and so informed. We are so thankful we did this tour. I was moved to tears a couple of times. Such an inspiring town in so many ways.

Excellent guide, great tour!!
While I am interested in ancient history, I wanted a different slant to my visit to Assisi. Monia, my guide, was terrific and I ended up getting both ends of history!
I had no idea about what happened in Assisi during the was and it was fascinating to hear the stories.
Monia was also very helpful when there was an unexpected bus strike and I was delayed arriving up from the station. Thanks for waiting, Monia.😊
