Aruba 2-Tank Dive Excursion for Certified Divers

Dear Toby, Thank you for your feedback. We take all safety claims seriously and immediately investigated this with our captain and dive master. Their accounts, corroborated by the other diver’s on board, clarify what occurred. Your wife began ascending due to buoyancy adjustments, not a lack of weight, as proven by her initial full descend without issue and fully completed the second dive with the exact same weight. When she started ascending, our dive master attempted to assist, but you both continued upward without responding. To ensure the safety of the remaining five divers underwater, he returned to the group once he saw you were safely on the surface and close to the boat. Meanwhile on the surface, captain Jan, the moment you surfaced, provided you with instructions to bring you back on board, however you both failed to follow his instructions and had to jump into the water to safely secure you and your wife. At no point were you in danger, and our crew followed strict safety protocols to protect both you and the remaining divers. Our dive master never stated that the group was too large, he simply followed standard safety guidelines by balancing your ascent with his responsibility to the rest of the group. If the experience was as distressing as described, we are confused as to why you both chose to complete a second dive with the exact same dive master, tipped him well, and told management you had a great time, rather than refusing to do the second dive and addressing immediately the issue in person upon arrival. We strongly believe that this matter should have been discussed on site rather than online. Furthermore, you left the premises without paying your remaining balance; leaving without paying means that you have already taken compensation into your hands.

Hi Paul Weiler, Thank you for the feedback! We’re glad you enjoyed our team's service! To ensure everyone's safety, we select dive sites based on weather and the overall group's experience level. Since most divers that day, including yourself, had fewer than 30 dives, we chose the most appropriate sites for that skill level. Regarding dive duration, our logs show bottom times of 47 and 52 minutes, which are a bit more than standard. You’re clearly efficient with your air, which is awesome, so keep up the good work! As for the lionfish, they can be elusive; while we saw several the day before, we never guarantee a sighting. Lastly, regarding the equipment used by the two divers, they were guests of the owner and were not charged extra for the hunting gear, so there may have been a misunderstanding there.
