A unique species
Located within the Los Arrayanes National Park, it is the only one that remains in the world, since a few years ago the one that was in Japan disappeared. Today it became a protected area due to the importance of its species and the variety of native life.
The scientific name of the Arrayán is Myrceugenella apiculata. These native trees, along with those on Victoria Island, are estimated to be around 300 years old. The myrtle is very tall, reaching about 18 meters and some specimens reach up to 25 meters.
Its trunk reaches about 50 cm. in diameter and is extremely twisted. The bark, cinnamon colored covered with irregular white spots, is always cold although soft to the touch, it comes off in plates. The flowers are small and white, similar to orange blossom and its purple fruits with which the indigenous people made chicha and dulce. In popular medicine, an infusion is prepared with the leaves to soothe muscle aches and intestinal ailments

Bait and Switch
Viator describes this tour as having a maximum number of 10 persons. That is why we selected it. Turns out we were on a boat with 100 people. Textbook case of bait and switch by Viator. The people running the boat and the guides leading the tour were very good.

Great experience- highly recommended
This was a really enjoyable tour. Beautiful scenery and tremendous experience. Our tour guide, Malina, was extremely knowledgeable of the flora, trees and history of the island and forest. This tour company was excellent!!!

Nice boat ride and hike on victoria island
Very nice excursion. We asked for the english speaking tour and our guide was great. There were only two of us on the hike on victoria Island. We had a 50 minute hike at a good pace and saw lots of the island
The boat ride was comfortable.
In the beginning it was a bit confusing when we got to the port. We were not sure which boat and how things were organized. A few minutes explanation while still on bus would eliminate any confusion. Definitely recommend.

Nice to do with children
Excellent service from the girls at the agency, especially Silvina, very cool. The beautiful ride from start to finish, 100% recommended.
I went with my 4 year old daughter and she enjoyed it very much!

It's only worth it if it doesn't rain.
It was raining and I couldn't walk in the forest. The guide also doesn't provide much information. So it was just a boat ride.

Definitely worth doing
A nice experience. Plenty of time taking in the stunning views on the lakes, an enjoyable hike and some pleasant driving. No hesitation is recommending this to other.
