Arctic Explorer Icebreaker Cruise with Ice Floating

Just sailing through the frozen sea by ship is pretty impressive. You also get a good insight into how such an icebreaker works while you can move freely around the ship. The highlight for me was clearly the floating in the ice water. You get a special suit that keeps you completely warm and makes you just drift on the water. It feels unusual at first, but at the same time totally calm and somehow surreal. What I liked:
Everything was super organized and you felt safe at all times – even when staying in the water. For those who feel like something really special and want to experience something completely different, I can definitely recommend this.

A 100% recommended activity, not only because it is unique and unmatched but because of the professionalism and treatment of its workers. All the activity is very well organized and coordinated so that you don’t waste a minute of your vacation. Both pickup and arrival is very punctual, as is flotation and lunch, with a soup and a well-served plate of food. In the flotation it makes a huge amount of photos for a very affordable price and the photographer is at your service at all times, not like in other activities you do with other companies where you have to go after the person in charge to take a photo at least. It is also very well distributed time: first walk where you recreate with the views, then flotation and walk on the ice (the order depends on your hour of flotation) and finally, your lunch while returning to the port. This maximizes time. In addition, the guides always worry that you have heard everything, whether you know the language or not, and that is to be appreciated, because I have had experiences with other companies that if you do not know the language or go alone, it seems that you are going to stuff. I recommend living this adventure with Pola Express Icebreaker because it will be the best money invested in your vacation.

The experience in isolation was good but when you compare it with the cost, I would rate this experience average at best. The ship was NOT equipped to manage the number of people they booked for the experience. 1. There was barely any place to sit. 2. We were in the third group (among 7-8 groups) and by the time we got there, most of the survival suits were wet. Not a good experience especially when you are entering frigid waters 3. For the ice water swimming, we barely got 10-15 minutes between getting ready and then having to come out as the group after us was waiting. 4. Not enough suits for kids because of which one of the crew members tightened the suit to an extent that my 8-year old daughter could barely smile as her jaw was constantly pressed against the suit. Honestly, I would pass, or go for a cheaper option if all you get is 10-15 minutes of being the water.

Bucket list trip for our 7&10 year old, super cool boat with mesmerising power and the swimming in life saver suits was hilarious, a brilliant experience!

I was a little hesitant because of the price as we were traveling with a family of 6 but took the chance and was not disappointed. Full star review on this day trip. Perfect trip in a modern bus with WiFi, incredible tour on the boat with everyone being extremely nice and the scenery and floating is just great.

Getting on an icebreaker ship is something incredible: everything around is frozen sea, and as the ship advances the ice is broken. At some point they form a sort of “pool” and, after putting on the thermal suits, you can go into the water. It’s a crazy experience: floating among the ice in a completely frozen sea is simply indescribable. Absolutely to do at least once in a lifetime!

Inforgetable!!! We went to vip excursion. Amazing swim with lifevest at sea artic with my Family. Dance in the deck ABBA músics with full moon is one of my best memories’ life ever. See the ice breaks and hear that sound is an unic experience. Hihgly recomended!

Ultra touristy. We took the icebreaker out for about half an hour, then 100 meters through the ice. That's about it. The groups then gradually go into the water to float. That's really nice. You have about 10 minutes. However, the groups are so large (about 20 people) that you don't really have any space in the water. During the 2.5 waiting period we were not allowed to leave the ship as we had read it in other reviews. It's too bad. All in all, much, much too expensive for little experience and mass handling. The crew was very nice though.

One of the best experiences I’ve ever had. Totally worth the money. Awesome feeling floating in the Baltic Sea in sub zero temperatures. Highly recommended.

This was amazing. The photos were incredible and do not do justice on the experience of floating in the Baltic Sea! Look at the options to enhance your experience, they are worth it!! Staff is very knowledgeable!
