Arches National Park Self-Guided Driving Audio Tour

Itinerary

5 min

Our adventure into the astounding Arches begins just before the park's entrance and visitor center. We're about to see stunning natural monuments, unlikely rock formations, and alien, ancient landscapes. Note: The tour is over 50+ miles long per tour, with more than 40+ audio stories per tour, and takes about 2-3 hours per tour to complete. New, Lifetime access, no expiry. Use it anytime, on any trip, as many times as you want.

Pass by

Arches National Park spans 76,000 acres, showcasing over 2,000 natural stone arches, including the longest one in the U.S., Landscape Arch. With 1.7 million annual visitors, it's a must-see destination. Explore it with a self-guided driving audio tour for an immersive experience.

5 min

As soon as we begin our scenic drive through Arches, we'll see our first formation: the Three Penguins. The ancient Ute and Paiute peoples who once called these lands home didn't see penguins though- they saw ancient spirits watching over the land. As we drive, we leave about the formations and their significance to the tribes.

5 min

Moab’s Fault is a six million-year-old crack in the earth’s crust. As we continue driving, we'll see this fault and learn about the geologic pressures that have formed the landscape of Arches.

Admission not included5 min

The La Sal Mountains are the second-highest mountain range in Utah. Their highest peak, which you can see toward the center of the range, is almost 13,000 feet tall. We'll pause our drive through Arches to admire the mountains and learn about the Spanish settlers who pushed out the Ute and Paiute tribes.

5 min

As we continue driving through Arches, we'll pass the iconic Three Gossips formation.

Pass by

This brings us to another vista point, where we'll see the Organ, Courthouse, Sheep Rock, and more.

Pass by

We'll also pass the Petrified Dunes and Great Wall. As we drive, we'll learn more about the Ute and Paiute mythologies of this harsh and alien landscape.

5 min

This is a big wall that is off to the left just past the Courthouse Wash Bridge. ... trail/wash that heads NW towards big blocks leaning against the wall.

Pass by

Balance Rock is one of the park’s most iconic attractions, and for good reason. It looks like a huge boulder balanced precariously on a thin spindle.... and held together by concrete? Nope - it's all natural, and it's all one single rock.

5 min

The Garden of Eden is located in Arches National Park near Moab, Utah. With no designated trails it is more of an open hiking area where visitors can explore its various fins and geological structures including Serpentine Arch and Owl Rock.

5 min

The Windows Trail begins at the end of The Windows Road in Arches National Park.

Pass by

You've probably already seen Double Arch - from Indiana Jones! Explore this unusual formation as you relive some iconic movie moments

5 min

The Cove of Caves is a backcountry trail located in the Arches National Monument near Moab, Utah.

5 min

We'll pass Panorama Point — keep this in mind if you plan to return at dark for stargazing. Since there’s very little light pollution obscuring the night sky here, you’ll see an astonishing number of stars once the sun sets. Depending on the time of year, you may even get to see the entire Milky Way! As we continue our drive, we'll learn about how to stargaze like the Paiute.

Pass by

The Wolfe Ranch, also known as Turnbow Cabin, is located in Arches National Park near Moab, Utah, United States. John Wesley Wolfe settled in the location in 1898 with his oldest son Fred. A nagging leg injury from the Civil War prompted Wolf to move west from Ohio, looking for a drier climate.

Pass by

This is one of the park’s quieter attractions. Like Cache Valley, Salt Valley was formed by the collapse of many sandstone domes. The broken pieces of rock littering the ground are leftovers from that collapse.

Pass by

As we drive, exploring more arches, we'll learn more about the Paiute myths behind them, the Spanish and Mormon settlers who tried to survive in this land, and the people who were able to preserve this stunning landscape as a national park.

Pass by

Visit Skyline Arch ... A short, out-and-back hike on well-defined trail leads to an arch in a high wall.

Pass by

Landscape Arch – This easy segment of the Devils Garden trail (1.9 mi/3.1 km roundtrip) is relatively flat with hard packed surfaces to walk on.

5 min

Witness the grandeur of Delicate Arch, nature's timeless sculpture. Capture the essence of awe in a single journey through Utah's iconic landscapes. This package also includes a bonus tour through Delicate Arch Trail!

Failed to function when in the park away from the entrance

Don't waste your time.... find some written assessment of what you will see. The download was easy but the big picture of how to operate the app once downloaded was vague.

Operator response

Robert, I’m sorry you weren’t able to use my Arches National Park audio tour. After booking, I send setup instructions with a tutorial video. The tour is valid forever, so I’d love for you to try it again, or I can offer a replacement tour of your choice. Please reach out to me (separate from Viator) between 9 AM and 6 PM EST.

Very Informative

It was great, super informative, and gives you a step-by-step guide on where to go throughout the park. I came without it at first and got to see a couple of things on my checklist. Then I used it on my last day, and I'm so glad I did. I gained a much deeper understanding of the park and an even greater appreciation for it & took me to places I would of not been able to look for on my own.

Operator response

Jennifer, thank you for taking my GPS audio tour of Arches National Park. I hope you’ll try my Utah parks bundle or another flexible audio tour from me soon. Happy exploring!

Exceeded our expectations!

Lots of great information. Easy to follow. Especially liked that the audio began as soon as we were approaching the next location and that there was a roadmap showing exactly where our car was on the trip and where the next destination was. Each destination was listed in sequential order so it was easy to know which one was next. If we hadn’t absorbed the information and wanted to hear it again, very easy to go back to that numbered site and listen again. Exceeded our expectations! We are traveling to more places before returning home and will go to the site to see if there are more tours that we can purchase from Viator.

Operator response

Be patient. Sometimes info lags behind from a location. It does catch up and sync up. The price is well worth the info you get that you would not necessarily know
