highly recommend!

This was a lovely experience! Our driver, Phil, was outstanding. He was informative, funny, and extremely kind. The tour itself was great. The only thing I'll note is that we had planned to be back in Galway at 6P but it was closer to 7P. Not terrible traffic to explain it, just a fun full day. I would budget extra time!

Unforgettable cruise to Inisheer & Cliffs of Moheer

Exciting trip to the smallest island of Aran Islands & amazing views from below and from above to the Cliffs of Moher. Also touring in the rugged landscapes of the Burren was interesting. Alan was an amazing guide AND driver. First I couldn’t believe that the sama person was both driving and guiding us! He was very knowledgeable, funny, organised and took excellent care of us! He told us interesting things about the history and life on Irish people both in Ireland and around the world.

Excellent scenery with excellent commentary.

This was a great tour. Excellent tour guide (Alan) anticipated our needs and questions. He didn’t talk too much. He gave us time to take in the scenery and gave enough color commentary and history to make the tour very enjoyable.

Good tour and interesting info

I did not rate a 5 because the weather was cloudy and misty. Of course that prohibited us seeing a few key views. Our guide, Alan was great anyway and kept apologizing for the weather. We would do this tour again but would book closer to the time for a better weather forecast.

⭐ One of the Highlights of Our Ireland Trip

A must-do tour in Ireland, especially for the breathtaking views of the Cliffs of Moher from the Atlantic Ocean. Our guide, Phil, (Wild Atlantic Tours)was outstanding—not only did he explain the significance of the places we visited, but he also shared fascinating insights into Ireland's language, culture, and history during the drive. The tour was very well organized. We left Galway at 9:00 AM, reached Doolin around 11:00 AM, and boarded the ferry. The weather was sunny and pleasant, and the sea was calm, making for a smooth crossing. After reading other reviews, I came prepared with motion sickness tablets and ginger chews, but fortunately didn't need either. We arrived at Inis Oirr around 11:30 AM. Visitors could explore the island on foot, by bicycle, or by horse-drawn carriage. We chose the horse-drawn carriage, which took us around the island with stops at the shipwreck and the castle. The driver dropped us near the castle, and although there was a short uphill walk to the ruins, it was quite manageable. After spending some time taking photos, we walked back to the ferry terminal in about 10 minutes along a paved road. There were several restaurants near the terminal, making it easy to grab a quick lunch. The ferry departed around 1:45 PM for the highlight of the tour—the Cliffs of Moher. Seeing the cliffs from the sea was simply unforgettable. With puffins flying around the towering cliffs, the scenery was spectacular. After cruising along the cliffs for about 30 minutes, we returned to Doolin around 3:00 PM. The ferry had multiple passenger decks, restrooms, a small café, and felt very safe throughout the journey. The coach then took us to the Cliffs of Moher Visitor Centre, arriving around 3:30 PM. There were several cafés, gift shops, and plenty of vegetarian food options. A short walk brought us to the cliff-top viewing area, where we enjoyed a completely different perspective of the cliffs. While both views were impressive, my personal favorite was the view from the water. We left the cliffs around 4:30 PM and returned to Galway via the scenic coastal road, passing numerous castles along the way. We stopped briefly for coffee—this is the place to try Irish coffee if you're interested, although I wasn't particularly impressed. We arrived back in Galway around 7:00 PM after an exciting and memorable day. Overall, this was one of the best tours of our Ireland trip and one I would highly recommend.

Worth it!

Our guide, Phil, was fun and knowledgeable. He kept us entertained during the bus ride. The tour itself was amazing. The chance to see the cliffs from the water was worth the rain. The boat pilot gives you plenty of time to take photos and enjoy the spectacular views. The island was charming and gorgeous. We would definitely recommend this tour to others.

Amazing!!!

This was a 10/10 experience! Love that it is a local family business I was supporting. Our guide Phil was amazing and kept things fun and lively. I always felt safe and I was quite impressed with his driving skills. I would book the same exact tour again in the future…seeing the cliffs from the water was an absolute highlight!!!!

Beware refund policy is a lie

Everything was good until they had to cancel part of the tour due to weather. Totally understandable but don’t believe their listing that says they will refund you for any cancellation as they definitely will not! We booked this tour specifically to see the cliffs from the water. It’s the one thing they couldn’t provide that day. We only asked for a 1/4 th refund for missing that part of the tour and were denied through Ireland Wild Escapes and Viator. We were not offered anything additional that day to make up for it, we just sat at the top of the cliffs longer to kill time. It’s unfortunate they aren’t truthful in their posting as the bus driver was wonderful, as was the rest of the trip. So just beware if you book, unless they cancel the entire tour or you do before your cancellation date, you are out your money if they can’t provide the trip they scheduled.

Operator response

Thank you for your feedback Tracy. As we discussed with you, due to safely reasons we had to cancel the cliff cruise as the weather made it unsafe to continue with this cruise. This doesn't happen often, but our guide makes up for this change by making the rest fo the tour as interesting and fun as possible. We don't list that this part is refundable on the tour detail. It was fantastic that we got you out to the island to enjoy that part of this amazing tour before the weather turned on us and we had to alter this tour slighly for safely reasons. I am delighted you enjoyed the rest of tour so much.
