Absolutely one of the best experiences while visiting Peru. I did this on my last day since I had a late flight out of Cusco. First..the care of the horses. Significant time was spent learning about each horse. with their unique characteristics and how to interact with them. You could tell what respect they had for these horses. And the ride itself was very pleasant, with plenty of guidance if the horse didn't follow the correct path. 2nd: Our guide was wonderful. He taught us so much about the history and religion of this area. I felt it was a spiritual experience in a very positive way. 3. We did visit 4 different areas and from.the outside you wouldn't have thought these were spiritual places. It was a very special thing to see these sacred areas. 4. The small group number really added to this experience. Our group was only 4 -,I was solo, and there was a mother with 2 young children . Overall a great experience. I highly recommend this , especially if you want to get a glimpse into the spiritual side of the Incas
Arnold and this whole experience was by far honestly the best thing we’ve done on our Cusco trip! Before this trip everything seemed so rushed by other companies, this was the perfect end to our trip! The horses were so well loved and taken care off, the sites were incredible and I just can’t say enough about how amazing this day was for my friend and I.
Arnold was an incredible guide, and made the whole experience great. He was deeply knowledgeable, and made everyone very comfortable with the horses. As a beginner with no experience, I’d highly recommend this. It was a great way to explore the temples outside Cusco and learn about Inca culture.
I loved everything about this trip. Arthur was knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the subject, the horses well extremely well cared for and good mannered. I loved the opportunity to canter through the ruins and soak up all the good vibes the place had to offer. I highly recommend this tour.
We had a fantastic experience on this horseback riding tour. Our guide, Diego, was extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and spoke excellent English, which made the entire experience easy and enjoyable. The horses were gentle, well behaved, and very friendly, so everyone in our group felt comfortable riding them. We also had the opportunity to let the horses run, which was an unexpected and wonderful bonus. It was easily one of the highlights of our trip, and we would highly recommend this tour.
Lovely experience and for once the start of the activity is only 20 minutes from town. Remember to put sunscreen on and a hat!
Super! I learned a lot about the Inca culture and even about horse behavior. The passion of the guide stood out the most, it actually has 10 stars. The whole was also very authentic, the setting, the surroundings and the people. Something that is not easy to find around Cusco either. Highly recommended! And of course it was nice to ride a horse again, the surroundings are of course beautiful.
Tupananchiskama! Arnold Luque – Antropoloog en Bewaarder van Heilige Routes
Our family of 4, including 2 teens, enjoyed this horseback riding adventure. Our guide, Diego, was professional, knowledgeable, and ensured our safety throughout the experience. He explained each horse’s personality which allowed us to choose the one that was the best fit for us. He also showed us how to introduce ourselves to the horses so that we could form a bond with them before the ride. We stopped at 4 different points along the trail and Diego shared the history and story behind each site which was interesting and educational. Most of the ride followed a gentle trail and at times we got to trot which made the experience more fun. Our ride was in the afternoon so we got to see the beautiful sunset towards the end of the ride. We’ve done a few horseback riding activities over the years and this experience was by far the best one.
It was a true honor to share the trails of the Andes with your family, Nancy. I am so glad that Diego could guide you through the sacred landscape of Cusco. The bond you formed with our well-cared horses is the essence of our work; teaching our guests how to approach these noble brothers ensures that the mystical horseback ride becomes an authentic experience rather than just a tour. Seeing the sunset together while learning about our history is the perfect way to honor the Pachamama. Thank you for trusting us with your family time. Tupananchiskama! This horseride was truely magical from start to finish, and it's clear how much care is taken. The horses are well looked after and the ride itself was so good! I think one of the only places that let you go faster than a walk on the horses. Loved it!
It was a joy to share the path with you, Nadine. Knowing that you felt the journey was truly magical confirms why we honor this land. As we ride through the Andes of Cusco, we strive to offer an authentic experience where our hermanos mayores—our equine companions—can show their true spirit. When perceptive guests like you connect so well with our well-cared-for horses, it allows us to safely experience the freedom of a faster pace, feeling the wind just as our ancestors did. This reciprocity, or Ayni, is what elevates a simple trail into a truly mystical horseback riding adventure. Añay for trusting us and sharing your vibrant energy. Tupananchiskama. the was the best horseback riding trip we have ever done and loved the ruins and history that we learned from our guide. You can tell they really love and care for their horses
It was a beautiful journey sharing the ancient history and ruins of Cusco with such perceptive guests. Connecting deeply with our hermanos mayores—our equine companions—is the true foundation of an authentic experience here in the Andes. I am deeply moved that you felt their spirit and recognized them as well-cared-for horses, because practicing the sacred Ayni (reciprocity) with them is what transforms the trail into a truly mystical horseback riding journey. Añay for letting the mountains speak to you. Tupananchiskama. Arnold Luque – Anthropologist and Guardian of Sacred Routes
