Anatol (our guide) provided a custom and very informed trip through Annecy. He was very knowledgeable about the history of Annecy. He answered all of our questions and provided a great historical walk thru of the town, churches and buildings. It was effectively a private tour for my wife and me, with Anatol as our guide. Leisurely, informative and easy walking tour of Annecy with a wonderful guide in Anatol. Anatol took me through the highlights of the city - he knew the history of Annecy very well - and what you think is the picture postcard building in the canal turns out to have been a prison for some 500 years. You imagine quite a different Annecy at the end and understand it from the days of the King of Sardinia right through to 1944 and the end of the war. It was brilliant. Highly recommend. And Anatol is a great conversationalist, easy to spend time with, and very engaging. Highly recommend this tour to anyone who wants a 2 hour rundown of Annecy so they understand the city more. We did Anatol’s two-hour walking tour of Annecy and really enjoyed it. He was responsive, knowledgeable, and full of interesting facts that gave us a great overview of both the city and its history. The highlight, though, was Anatol himself. He has a warm, engaging personality. We enjoyed how he shared his own experiences and thoughts on Annecy. He made the tour feel relaxed and personal rather than scripted. He even took photos of us along the way, which was such a thoughtful extra touch.
