Our local guides follow the weather and clouds and adjust the journey to find the best possible conditions. When the sky looks promising, we stop. Step outside, breathe the Arctic air, take photographs, enjoy the silence and look up. Your evening includes a dedicated Aurora presentation, explaining how the Northern Lights are created and why they appear in different colors. You will also hear old Arctic stories and Sámi traditions surrounding these mysterious lights. Perhaps that is why the Aurora can feel so magical. Our bus is warm and comfortable, with plenty of space to relax. Warm drinks and snacks are served during the evening. We can never promise the Northern Lights — nature decides. But our local guides will use their knowledge and experience to give you the best possible chance to see them.

It was a little cloudy but we DID get to see some Northern Lights!! Our guide was great. He did a fantastic job considering Mother Nature wasn’t totally cooperative. It was fun driving out of Alta and seeing some of the houses and where people live. Great evening!!!

According to our observations and reports from that evening, there were strong Northern Lights visible on October 3rd, so it is surprising to us that this was not pointed out or fully experienced during your tour. This is something we take seriously, and we will follow up with the guide to understand what happened.
First of all this tour is just a hunt to find the Northern Lights, as the title says. We basically drove around in the bus with the driver stopping at various locations and we all got off the bus and took our pictures. Note…since our bus was all cruise passengers and our time was limited we all opted to skip the church drive by and start the hunt immediately. It was a very cloudy night but our driver was still able to find some spots where we could see the lights and we got some decent pictures. We were happy over all with this tour.
