Not a Consumer Oriented Operator
I booked this tour 6 months ahead and was fully aware that it could be cancelled if the required number of passengers was not met. Accordingly, I regularly checked the availability on the chosen date to see if the tour had achieved the necessary number of passengers. For a long time it said 7 spaces were still available but about one month out it stated there was no availability on this date. I assumed that this meant all seats had been booked and hence the tour was a go. Therefore I was extremely disappointed to be told 3 days before the tour was to depart that it had been cancelled because the required number of participants had not been met. Well no kidding - if anyone had wanted to book this date they would have found no availability. One might be justified in assuming that the operator had no intention of running the tour on this date. But then why not simply cancel the tour and leave me more to make alternative arrangements? This operator, Ophorus, is being disingenuous. Beware!
Operator response
Bonjour T9873HLmartina,
We are sorry for the disappointment caused. Tours do require a minimum number of participants, and availability may sometimes be closed for operational reasons. Our reservations team normally offers alternative dates or options when a tour cannot operate. We regret that your experience gave you a different impression and appreciate your feedback.
Kind regards,
Carole

A Magical Day
A fabulous small tour, our guide was excellent, friendly, knowledgeable and fun. The towns visited were beautiful, like a Disney movie set but real and stunning. The castle was amazing, would highly recommend this tour

Francesco was an...
Francesco was an outstanding tour leader: professional, friendly, supportive, and incredibly knowledgeable. He made every effort to ensure we had a memorable experience and always felt well looked after. Even though the tour could accommodate up to eight people, only the two of us booked at the last minute. Rather than cancelling or scaling back the experience, Francesco made us feel special and provided a personalised tour. The villages we visited and places we went and we wouldn’t know about if not for his recommendation, were stunning, full of charm and character, and are an absolute must-see. Highly recommended!
PS: We learned a lot of details about wines and wine making process because of his wealth of knowledge and experience.

Alsatian delights
Lucas was our personable guide for the four gems of Alsace. This tour would be a great introduction to the charming half timbered wine villages and turbulent history of this area. Highly recommend!

Amazing!!! Do it!
Tour guide was amazing (Violetta). She really catered the trip to us, asking what we wanted to do first due to the weather & our energy levels. She was super informative at the castle & about the Alsace region in general. Even took us to beautiful view points of the town to take pictures. Only part that could’ve been a bit better was the wine tasting. The wine was great, same with the company but it was in a little store with no chairs versus an actual winery. We spent about an hour there trying really good wines but it was kind of random. I would say this tour is an amazing way to see 2 towns, try some wine & also get a very informative tour of the castle! Vehicle was air conditioned too & plenty of places to stop to go to the bathroom if we needed! It was a group of 5 of us & then 3 others so it was a small enough tour that could be customized

Other than the timing...
Other than the timing issue, everything was great. Although the itinerary originally planned for us to spend 2 hours in Riquewihr — the most beautiful village on the program — we only had 1 hour there. Also since it coincided with lunchtime, we had to explore the village quite quickly and couldn’t fully enjoy it. Apart from that, everything was very well and enjoyable.

Beautiful route
The Alsace wine route with its picture postcard towns is always a stunning place. We toured with a very young tour guide named Lucas who was newer and who was doing a great job. He was kind and sensitive to our needs. Showed us excellent things.
