We had the pleasure of spending holidays with our tour guide Thara and I can only say that it was one of the best experiences of my life! We booked our tour through a tour operator who provided Thara as our driver and guide for the two weeks of our stay. Thara was an absolute hit with our three children aged 14/16/18 and they loved seeing him everyday. Thara seemed to have the perfect balance of knowing when to chat during the hours we spent in the mini bus with him and when to be quiet. Although our itinerary was already mostly mapped out before we met Thara, he gave bits of advice about other places we could add in and see and advised on one occasion against us spending more money on another jeep safari having seen so much the first day. He’s very knowledgable about Sri Lanka’s history, religion and culture and very specific local events like during a religious day when we were on the road and locals were on the street handing out food to anyone who passed. He has a lovely manner demonstrated when our youngest had quite considerable fear of heights at Sigiriya rock. Thara calmly took him down against the flow of visitors climbing the rock. The fact our son was happy to leave us and be guided by Thara is a testament to the relationship Thara had cemented in the previous few days of knowing us. We would thoroughly recommend anyone to use Thara as their guide and driver.

Had an amazing trip of Sri Lanka thanks to Thara. He recommended an amazing itinerary to cover some of the most beautiful places in the country. From beaches to mountains, monuments, scenic train rides to name a few. Thara was an amazing addition to the group, he has an amazing personality and is a very simple person.
