All Inclusive Rio Food Walking Experience

Marcela our guide was great - such a fun, bubbly person who shared her passion for Brazilian food. We started off at the local food market and tried some fruits I've never seen before (all super yummy). The tapioca "pancake", acai berry bowl, lamb and dessert were all great. As were the Caipirinha cocktails. Marcela was amazing, organizing multiple taxi's for us when it started raining and thinking on her feet when we couldn't do what was planned due to some rain. I highly recommend Eat Rio food tours. Thank you to the team.

What a fantastic experience and excellent professional tour guides. I had such a fun time, everything is covered and I ate plenty of food. The entire experience was several hours, and I met a lot of cool travelers. For me this is definitely one to add to your list! Photo is from a restaurant I was recommended by the guide! We had an absolutely fantastic food tour through Rio de Janeiro with Marcela as our guide—without a doubt one of the highlights of our trip. Marcela was incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, and passionate about Rio’s history, culture, and food. She took us to places we never would have discovered on our own, where we sampled an amazing variety of local fruits, traditional snacks, authentic Brazilian dishes, and delicious drinks. The tour was the perfect combination of food, culture, and local insight. Along the way, Marcela shared fascinating stories about Rio, explained the ingredients and traditions behind each tasting, and gave us a genuine glimpse into everyday Brazilian life. Everything was perfectly organized, the pace was relaxed, and the atmosphere was warm and enjoyable from start to finish. We left feeling full, inspired, and with a much deeper appreciation of Brazilian cuisine and culture. If you’re visiting Rio de Janeiro, we can’t recommend Marcela’s food tour highly enough. It’s an unforgettable experience and well deserving of five stars!

Went on the 5+ hour tour with my teenage daughter, and it was one of the true highlights of our trip. Gabriel was an awesome guide who led us through a food market with fruit tasting, açaí at an Amazonian restaurant, a Portuguese-style lunch, caipirinhas in various flavors, and a final snack plus dessert. I was worried about the hot Rio weather, but he made sure we stayed out of the sun. We had 9 people on our tour plus the guide. Would definitely recommend to a new Rio visitor. So much food - definitely was full at the end and glad I had only a light breakfast beforehand.

We found this tour through the show "Somebody feed Phil." Our experience was equally as wonderful - doing this tour (we had Gabriel, who was incredibly friendly and knowledgable) introduced us to the flavors and feel of Rio. We switched our whole itinerary after accordingly, following many of the recommendations we received and thoroughly enjoyed our visit. The organization of the tour was handled very professionally: Tom made timely replies to my questions, and was very cordial throughout.

I took the daytime food tour with Marcela in December 2025, and it was fantastic! My first tour with Eat Rio was in 2017. I just went back to Rio this past December, and I had to go on another tour with them. They outdid themselves! I enjoyed all the stops in the tour, from the street market vendors to the historical restaurants we visited. Marcela had amazing insights about all the food and drinks; she was always on top of our needs, from the extra napkin to the extra cocktail. She was ready. And her sense of humor and love for the city were extremely contagious. I also checked the feijoada recommendations that Tom sends, and really enjoyed them. I can’t wait to go back to Rio and book yet another tour with Eat Rio!

My husband, son (11) and I absolutely loved Marcela’s food tour. We visited a wonderful and lively fruit market, local cafes/restaurants and tried dishes we never would have experienced otherwise. Marcela was really friendly, thoughtful and very accommodating of one person in our group being a vegetarian. Overall, it was an excellent way to experience another side of Rio and something we would happily recommend to our friends and family.

Our group was blown away by Marcela and the food tour! Having done more than 10 food tours across three continents, this tour is at the top of the list. We were a group of six with that many food allergies/restrictions which were accommodated. Marcela is passionate about the amazing foods and dishes of Rio and enthusiastically shared many of them with us. Come hungry and be prepared to experience dozens of the tastes making up Rio’s food scene. Truly the highlight of our time in Rio! We highly recommend the tour and Marcela.
