Itinerary

The best-conserved palace from the Al-Andalus Islamic sovereigns in Spain. Really one of the most amazing monuments you can visit.

5 min

Standing at the entrance, admire the Horseshoe Arch and the Christian coat of arms, symbolizing the shift from Moorish rule to Spanish conquest in 1492.

Admission included5 min

A beautiful horseshoe-arched gate, the Puerta del Vino once led to the royal palaces. The name may come from its role as a place where wine was once traded, although some historians suggest it refers to its decorative colors.

Admission included5 min

This wide esplanade sits above the Alhambra’s water reservoirs (“aljibes”), offering a fantastic panoramic view of the Albaicín and Sacromonte neighborhoods. It’s a perfect moment to take in the fusion of Islamic and Renaissance architecture.

Admission included20 min

The Alcazaba, the oldest part of the Alhambra, functioned as a military fortress. Climb the Torre de la Vela (Watchtower) for breathtaking 360° views of Granada. The tower bell, famously rung every January 2nd, marks the day the Catholic Monarchs took the city from the Nasrids.

Admission included25 min

A dramatic contrast to the Islamic-style structures around it, Palacio de Carlos V was built in the 16th century by Emperor Charles V to emphasize Spanish dominance. The massive circular courtyard inside is one of Spain’s finest Renaissance designs.

Admission included15 min

The Partal Gardens feature reflective pools, Moorish towers, and lush vegetation, making it one of the most picturesque spots in the Alhambra. The nearby Torre de las Damas (Ladies’ Tower) preserves elegant Nasrid-style balconies overlooking the gardens.

Admission included5 min

This hidden gem is one of the most richly decorated residential towers in the Alhambra, showcasing some of the finest Islamic stucco and tilework. The name “Cautiva” (captive) refers to a Christian noblewoman who was rumored to have lived here after being taken by the sultan.

Walk through the gates of the Generalife, the summer palace and gardens of the Nasrid sultans. This estate provided a peaceful retreat away from the formalities of court life.

This modern open-air theater hosts cultural events and Granada’s International Festival of Music and Dance. Surrounded by gardens, it blends contemporary arts with the Alhambra’s historic backdrop.

One of the most iconic sites in the Alhambra, the Patio de la Acequia (Courtyard of the Water Channel) is the heart of the Generalife. Its flowing fountains, fragrant flowers, and delicate archways create a paradise-like setting.

Admission included5 min

This unique Nasrid-era stairway is designed with flowing water channels carved into the stone handrails, cooling the area as visitors ascend. The sound of trickling water enhances the serene atmosphere of the Generalife.

Your journey through the Alhambra and Generalife concludes with a peaceful walk along the Paseo de las Adelfas (Oleander Walkway), where you can reflect on the beauty and grandeur of the Moorish legacy in Spain.

To be avoided

Very expensive compared to other sellers just to get codes and let people leave without instructions The audio guides have no reference points for the site to visit

Find another option please

Pick up of your ticket is in the old center of town, far from the entrance of the Alhambra. Walking in 40 degrees uphill is not recommended if you want to have a nice experience later on. Tickets are available at the entrance of the Alhambra as well and online directly with them. After booking with this company, they actually called me to sell me more, calling my cell number internationally!! Offensive and expensive. Kept sending WhatsApp messages about tickets to the Palace as well, which we'd already declined. Very pushy. Audio tour was to be included, pick up half an hour before your 'timeslot', but it turned out to be just a download on your phone. Unfortunately with all the stalking and reminders to bring stuff or buy another ticket, they didn't tell you to bring your earplugs. So no device that needed to be picked up and payed a deposit for as per info whilstbokking, and a very bad audio experience. No map was given of the lay out ot the Alhambra, nor were there any numbered sites so you could actually try to hear the right info at the right spot. We were sooo disappointed!

Granada by Segway with children

Lautaro was a fantastic guide. We did the 1-hour tour with the children (9 and 10 years old) and we were all thrilled both by the experience and by the historical mentions perfectly told by Lautaro. Absolutely highly recommended also for families and for those who are at their first experience. TOP ⬆️⬆️⬆️

Highly recommend! Great experience

We bought tickets to see the Alhambra and though our tickets didn’t include the Nasrid Palaces, we had a lot of fun exploring the Jardins and the Alcazaba. Getting our tickets was very easy. We bought tickets online on August 8 and picked them up at the Play Granada tourism center (which is very close to the Alhambra) on August 9. The employees were very respectful and helpful as well; I had a few questions about how to pick up the tickets and I was able to reach them very quickly through their WhatsApp (which can be found online). I was a bit hesitant to buy tickets from Play Grenada because of the past negative reviews, but my experience with them as of August 2026 was nothing short of perfect. Thank you especially to Maria, who was very kind to us when picking up our tickets.
