Description
The Kayak Tour explores the Dolphin Sanctuary and Mangrove Forest, just 30 minutes from the Adelaide CBD. Here you find one of Adelaide's "secret spots", it is an area of surprising beauty. The sheltered mangrove lined creeks are home to a fascinating array of marine life, birds and the Port River Dolphins. All this makes for a sensational adventure and kayaking is the most environmentally sensitive way to explore and interact with the dolphins. Small-groups of no more than 16 people make this a personal experience. Perfect for the whole family, enjoy an up close look at the native wildlife and mangrove forest as your guide tells you tales of this mysterious area.

Do this. It's SO worth it.
This was just fab. They split us into groups so we could be taught the basics of kayaking and the safety bits. We all had lifejackets and then it was off to the water.
We went in our group of wildly varying capabilities. Our guide was Mark and he was fab.
We found signs of dolphins and then the Pelicans led us right to them.
It was a great way to spend a sunny morning in North Adelaide.

Fabulous afternoon. Kane our guide was informative and knowledgeable. Briefing was great, definitely felt like we were in safe hands. Suited our group who were from 1st time kayakers to more experienced. Very relaxing.

Mangrove Kayaking
Lovely and informative paddle through the mangroves. Unfortunately we didn’t see any dolphins, but paddled down narrow creeks amongst the mangroves and up close to many beautiful birds.

Great Experience
We were running about 20 minutes late due to an accident on the way, and as it was my birthday, I was really disappointed and worried that I would miss this experience. Luckily, the tour operator was incredibly understanding and waited for us to arrive.
We finally took off with my partner, and it turned out to be such a beautiful and magical experience on my special day. ❤️ I’m truly grateful to the tour operator for being so flexible and supportive — it really meant a lot to us.
The entire tour was smooth, well organised and absolutely enjoyable from start to finish. We loved every moment of it!
Thank you so much for making my birthday extra special. We would absolutely love to come back again with my wife. Highly recommended!

Close encounters with dolphins and weird trees
Appreciated their patience with us as tourists and beginner kayakers. The lessons on mangrove biology and dolphin behavior were super interesting. We had dolphins coming right up by our kayak, and were navigating through the dense mangrove roots like experts, by the end.
Operator response
We appreciate you taking the time to leave a great review! It is amazing to hear that you enjoyed your time exploring and learning about the dolphin sanctuary with us!

A bit short
Guides were good & knowledgeable, but overall tour was short. Kayaking was definitely beginner friendly, slow paced and too short.
Operator response
We appreciate you taking the time to leave us some feedback. Our 90min Mangroves tour is designed as a beginner friendly tour so the varying abilities of the group often will govern the pace. If you are looking for a longer tour, please consider our longer 3 hour Mangroves & Ships Graveyard tour. It is great to hear the positive feedback on our guides, we will be sure to pass this onto them!

Tour was cancelled too late
the tour was cancelled and refunded. The cause was probably too strong a wind. Actually no problem at first, but we only got the info after we got an Uber for 35€ and found no one on site. The Uber was gone and so was the cell phone reception, i.e. we walked about 3km (to have reception again) and then ordered another Uber for the way back
Operator response
Thanks for taking the time to leave feedback. We are sorry to read about your experience.
We have been unable to identify this booking without further details. Our team always contacts customers by phone and email when a tour is cancelled, and we attempt multiple times where possible. For many international visitors we do not receive a working local number, which can make last-minute contact difficult.
We would like to look into this properly. Please email us with your full name, booking reference, tour name and the date you were due to travel.
This will help us give you a more accurate response.
