A single ticket for the three museums - duration 30 days

We were passing through and they pointed us to this suggestive and imposing tower... what can I say, it was a dive into the past, more precisely from the 1850s to the early 1900s. Many interesting facts, everything well taken care of starting from the park, tower, and museum. A shout-out to the very kind and patient staff. Recommended since the visit lasts a maximum of 1.5/2 hours

The tower dedicated to Vittorio Emanuele II, built in 1880, is visible from the main road, but up close it is even more majestic. We purchased a single ticket for three Risorgimento museums for 12 euros. Just seeing this is worth it all. Inside the tower, one relives the Risorgimento history from 1848 to 1870. It is a leap back in time. There is also an old working telephone with a receiver at the entrance that provides explanations like in the past; otherwise, near the various frescoes in multiple languages, you can scan the QR code with your cell phone and access the explanation. There are also explanatory plaques. Some floors also feature videos, some of which are almost realistic. You ascend via a wooden ramp to the various levels; however, on some, the passage is closed, and you proceed from one ramp to another using about 4 to 5 steps, which I mention for those who have mobility issues. Perhaps individuals with wheelchairs can also access the closed ramps above by asking at the ticket office. Some floors are accessible to individuals in wheelchairs as well. There are no elevators. There is no air conditioning. The lower floors are quite cool and well-ventilated. The last floor before accessing the outside of the tower is rather warm, and I recommend bringing a good fan or a small battery-operated fan if you have one, along with a bottle of water. Each floor has a bench to sit on, so you will calmly reach the top. The view of the landscape from inside overlooking the surroundings is beautiful. However, the exterior of the tower, which is completely in the sun and lacks benches, compensates for the climb with a splendid view of Lake Garda and the Rocca di Lonato, which makes the entire ascent worthwhile. A 360-degree view. On the terrace, there is a lantern that contains the lighthouse that flashes the colors of our Italian flag from very far away. The garden is very well-kept with hedges, and there are hidden bins everywhere among the hedges, plus a small fountain at the entrance. Continuing to the right of the tower, you will find the museum, which has a beautiful display of weapons, cannons, and much more about the various battles of the period. Outside, two benches will provide you with relief. Following the signage, you will find to the right of the museum a vending machine for water and drinks at very reasonable prices, a refreshment area with benches and chairs under cover, with bins, clean restrooms, and another drinking fountain near the tables. A breezy area if there is a breeze and with shade. I recommend taking a break here; bring a sandwich with you and remember to keep it clean; the bins for waste are plentiful. The place is quiet, so no loud noises; you are not alone, and there is also a caretaker. If you feel like having a restaurant or a coffee, you will find it outside, directly in front of the ticket office where you parked your vehicle for free. In case the parking lot is full, do not worry; as you exit the ticket office, next to the ossuary, you will find a large parking area, and then you can take a short walk in the shade to the tower. Extremely kind and competent staff. It takes about 2 hours to go between the tower and the museum. If you take a break, 3 hours may pass without you even noticing. I recommend comfortable shoes; sandals are fine, but no heels for the ladies. I highly recommend visiting it.

I visited this site, found it very interesting and beautiful; the history of the battle, the history of the area, and of our beautiful country, the view from the tower is fantastic, the museum is very beautiful and interesting, kept clean and well organized. I highly recommend anyone interested to spend an hour or more there. 😍🔝

Monument that you can already see from the highway, admired from afar for years, I finally find the time to visit it. Nearby parking with also an on-site restaurant and opening hours in line with other attractions of the kind. Various types of entrance ticket, I opt for the 12€ one including 3 entrances: the tower of San Martino, the fortress of Solferino and the Museum of Solferino. In an hour you can visit the tower well, which already at the entrance leaves satisfied by the beauty of the place. Recommended stop.

I honestly cannot get used to this "Siesta type" working hours in Autumn. If you do decide to go: Check the working hours before you decide to visit and make sure to go way before because you might struggle with all the construction work and bridge closures to get there in time like we did. Do not expect to be able to do any decent pictures of the tower without coming at the right time to be able to pay the entrance fee because its closed with a fence.

We went up the tower and it was really interesting, it starts at the entrance with the names of the dead soldiers projected on the walls with music playing in the background. Then you start climbing the stairs surrounded by many frescoes until you reach the top on the external roof

This tower is well visible from the entire southern area of Lake Garda, and has a similarly good view. It was built to commemorate the Second Italian Liberation War in 1859 when the Italians together with the French defeated the Austrians. Next to the tower is a museum that describes the war in more detail with audiovisual means. Weapons, uniforms and equipment from the battle are also on display. In summer time it can get hot to climb the stairs, but this is really worth recommending. A bottle of water is okay to bring.

In its simplicity is imposing, well maintained the garden that surrounds it. Behind the weapons museum are Covered wooden tables and the toilet. Seems like an Enterprise Climbing the Tower, But It's Not. You climb on internal ramps that take you to the top from where you can enjoy a wonderful view. The museum behind the tower contains documents, weapons and historical uniforms. Interesting multimedia room. The ossuary, a 5-minute walk away, strikes you for the presence of skulls and bones of soldiers who died during battles. Interesting plaques in memory of the fallen from the various brigades.
