With seven generations growing up in New Orleans my family has deep roots in the French quarter and the Garden District. As a child going to Audubon Montessori I rode the Saint Charles street car everyday and later went to Loyola University during Katrina. We will be touring through very familiar territory :-) please take your tours from locals it makes such a big difference!

We start at the Mississippi River, where all our lands were built we talk about the early history from native American settlements to the first French market and West African and Central African slaves first coming to the colony. We stroll down the Riverwalk to Jackson square.
We take a tour through the French Quarter stopping at historical sites and talking history along the way comparing the Creole and American sides of the city. We discuss how they were settled the differences in culture and architecture before we hop on the streetcar to the Garden District.
We ride the oldest streetcar line in the country St Charles line into the Garden District from the French Quarter. Passing Lafayette square and getting off at Lafayette Cemetery. We will tour many historic mansions along the way before ending the tour at Magazine Street.

Leanne was very knowledgeable and provided a great tour. The tour used architecture to explain the development of the city and how it evolved over time. She was very flexible and allowed us to explore different aspects at our own pace

Leanne was such a great tour guide! We enjoyed her local's perspective of the city and her knowledge of the history and architecture. The tour was paced just right and is scheduled so that you don't feel like you are wasting tour time when you stop for beignets and coffee. We saw so many beautiful things on the tour and were able to identify things we wanted to go back to and spend more time at after the tour. We felt more confident navigating New Orleans on our own after her insights during the tour. We would highly recommend any tour Leanne offers!
