Really nice experience with our tour guide, Samwel. He was friendly, knowledgeable, and made the tour very enjoyable. The entire staff was incredibly kind and helpful, and we felt very well accommodated throughout our stay. Highly recommended!

This is the ideal itinerary if you want to see the largest herd movement of animals on the planet and go to the best national parks in Tanzania's north. This trip will concentrate on the western Serengeti. The great migration occurs from May to July across the Grumeti River. Before coming face to face with predators waiting on the other side, the herds of wildebeests and zebras have to outwit the enormous Nile crocodiles and the swiftly moving water. A magnificent show.

Really nice experience with our tour guide, Samwel. He was friendly, knowledgeable, and made the tour very enjoyable. The entire staff was incredibly kind and helpful, and we felt very well accommodated throughout our stay. Highly recommended!
I cannot recommend Meru Tours highly enough! We had the most incredible experience on our 6 day private safari - each day we thought it couldn't get better but new encounters with the big 5 and many other animals just kept coming and we will cherish the memories for a lifetime. If you are looking for a safari that really offers you the most amazing up-close wildlife and cultural experiences as well as great personal service, this safari from Meru Tours is perfect. Everything about this safari was fantastic from the booking process with Kelvin Bonath from Meru Tours, the wonderful driver and guide Jackson, and the talented chef Rashid. Kelvin always replied quickly and was flexible in planning our safari. Jackson is full of knowledge about the wildlife and culture, he's patient and always in a good mood and always makes sure we are having the best experience. Of course with nature there's an element of luck so he can't guarantee you'll See every animals - but with his experience you have the best chance and we saw the big five and so many more as well as the Great Migration so do ask for Jackson as a guide when booking! Also ask for Rashid as your chef as he's a wonderful cook and the two of them are a wonderful team. Meru Slopes is a very professional local Tanzanian company and we found it was excellent value for money. We will definitely book with them again If we come back (which we hope will be soon)!
We booked an 8-day safari through Leonhard and meruslopes and that was the best decision we could have made. We were more than satisfied with our guide Jacob. He is very accommodating, friendly, and funny. When we had questions, he was able to answer them well for us, and he also always shared interesting facts; furthermore, he is very good at finding animals; thanks to him, we were able to see our Big 5 completely, and on the other hand, also two lion hunts and much more! We can only highly recommend meruslopes and especially Jacob!
I really recommend this place. Did homework comparing several and then picked them out, resulting in Safari organizer Kelvin Bonith, Safari Guide : Ezekiel is fine. The first day landed in the middle of the night. Picked up on time and gave the hotel a break to wash up, especially to compliment our driver. Very diligent! We went back to the hotel every morning from 6am until 6pm, the information was also timely, we would try our best to look for anything we wanted to see, very clean, washed the car every day. The hotel is very good. Recommended
Meru Slopes, and specifically Douglas (our driver and guide) gave us the best trip of our lives. We did 6 days of Safari through Tarangire, Central Serengeti, Ndutu (with a hot air balloon ride), and Ngorongo Crater. We had one final day in Arusha with a day trip to Materuni Falls. This perfect itinerary was organized by Leonard and he was responsive throughout the whole trip. The safari was a life changing experience. We loved every single moment of it. My wife and I each celebrated our birthdays throughout the trip and Meru Slopes was excellent in organizing many surprises for our birthdays. Our accomodations were great. Well furnished, nice toilets with hot showers, great staff. The only thing is that it would sometimes get very hot during the day and only our first tented accomodation had a regular sized fan. It was quite a cool experience to hear the wildlife right outside our tent at night. We saw each of the Big Five and many other animals. We witnessed predators and scavengers feeding on prey, a wildabeest calf being born, a parade of elephants walking towards us, a cheetah scanning for prey from atop a termite mound. These experiences, and more, were only possible because of the 15 years of expertise of Douglas. He was truly amazing and we genuinely miss him now that our trip is over. He made us feel like family. 10/10 recommend.
A very well organised and amazing tour with guide Douglas and organiser Gift Tembo. Professional people, superb wildlife knowledge, safe driving in Parks and on roads. Well chosen and excellent accommodations. Higly recommend Meru Slopes Tours and Safaris!
Our guide Frank was great. He way always on time, very reliable. He knew the right spots to spot the animals. He was very patient, as my husband loves to take many pictures and videos. We got to watch cheetahs on a hunt. We saw lions mating. We watched hyenas following prides of lions after a hunt. There are too many animals to list every one. Frank knew names of every bird. Frank organized hot lunches every day. The lodging exceeded our expectations every night. Buffet style breakfasts and dinners were excellent every day. Meru -Slopes was very easy to communicate with. They respond very quickly. The entire safari ran very smoothly. Overall a wonderful experience.
We enjoyed immensely our 6-day private mid-range Safari to Tarangire, Serengeti, and Ngorongoro that we booked through Meru Slopes. From start to finish the experience was flawless. Jerome was the sales rep that provided great customer service and answered all my pre-trip questions in a timely manner. Our driver / guide was Frank who went out of our way to make sure we were well taken care of and happy throughout the trip. He had a keen eye to spot wildlife which was most important to us. He was persistent in making sure we saw as much as possible considering it is always unpredictable what you might find on any given day but that was part of the excitement. The Toyota Land cruisers are fun and we enjoyed looking out the open roof area to see what we could spot. We were well fed the entire trip (too much food) especially since with the exception of one day on the go we had hot lunches. We enjoyed all the lodges and the amenities considering some are in the middle of nowhere - they were all clean with excellent buffet breakfasts and dinners. One was particularly upscale and the others were all glamping style, comfortable, private, with electricity and hot water. All-in-all would highly recommend Meru Slopes. Jerome and Frank made the trip memorable and special, a definite bucket-list item. Our guide was knowledgeable and very personable - perhaps, he could have volunteered a bit more information about the history, animal behavior, culture but when we asked he had answers. We preferred anyway to soak in the experience vs. info overload.
We had the most amazing experience during our 8-day safari with Meru Slopes Tours & Safaris. From the very first moment until our return to Arusha, everything was perfectly organized and exceeded our expectations. Our guide Nuru was simply outstanding – extremely knowledgeable, always friendly, and with a fantastic sense of where to be at the right time. Thanks to him, we were able to see an incredible variety of wildlife, from large elephant herds and lions on the hunt to countless birds and even the more elusive animals. He always made sure we had the best possible viewing spots while avoiding the big crowds. The itinerary covered a wonderful variety of landscapes: Tarangire with its majestic baobabs and elephants, the dramatic scenery of Lake Natron, the endless plains of the Serengeti, the breathtaking Ngorongoro Crater, and the lush beauty of Lake Manyara. Each park had its own magic, and together they made for an unforgettable journey. The accommodations and meals were far better than we expected. Every day we enjoyed freshly prepared food, often served as proper picnics in the middle of nature, which made the experience even more special. We never felt rushed, and the team always made sure we were comfortable and well taken care of. To sum up: • Excellent organization – smooth and professional from start to finish. • Amazing guide (Nuru) – passionate, fun, and a true expert. • Incredible wildlife and landscapes – we saw all of the Big Five and so much more. • Great food and lodges – fresh meals and cozy places to stay. We can wholeheartedly recommend Meru Slopes Tours & Safaris to anyone planning a safari in Tanzania. Special thanks to our guide Nuru for making this trip one of the best experiences of our lives – Asante Sana!
The safari was great. Our guide was Mohamed, who seemed to have very good knowledge of the parks and where to find the animals we wanted to see. He was always friendly and helped us get the best pictures. The road was somewhat tired from the route we chose but it was worth it. I would definitely recommend this company and our guide who guided the Spanish safari without problem.
