7-Day Murchison Falls, Chimps & Gorilla Trekking

The trip with Ngoni Safaris was spectacular; words do not do it justice. From the first moment, Sedrick answered all our questions and made suggestions for improvement. Communication was fluid, clear, and fast, which made the whole process much easier, since they took care of everything. The vehicle, the flexibility of schedules, the punctuality, the quality of the accommodations, the service, and the dedication of the staff were unsurpassed. A truly wonderful safari and vacation that will leave an indelible mark on our memory and in our hearts. I want to make a special mention of our driver, Steven. His skill and safety behind the wheel, his experience, his knowledge of the places, the roads, and the people, as well as his patience, made him a fundamental travel companion and leader, contributing to the spectacular experience that I cannot emphasize enough. He even organized lunch, dinner, cakes, and balloons when he found out that our birthday was approaching, which was going to be a surprise. He is always cheerful, knows how to listen, is very polite, and always gives 100%. How lucky we are!

Today we finished our safari in Uganda, and I’m leaving with the feeling that I’ve experienced one of those trips I’ll remember for a very long time. The itinerary was very complete and allowed us to discover completely different places and landscapes: Murchison Falls, Kibale, Queen Elizabeth, Bwindi and Lake Bunyonyi. We saw an incredible amount of wildlife, went chimpanzee trekking and, of course, experienced one of those moments that stay with you forever: coming face to face with mountain gorillas in Bwindi. The lodges were also a really lovely part of the trip. Each one had something special and they all fitted perfectly into the itinerary: from Tilenga Safari Lodge in the Murchison Falls area, to Turaco Treetops surrounded by forest, Enshama, Dorotia’s in Bwindi and finally Milele Lodge overlooking beautiful Lake Bunyonyi. It was wonderful to see the landscape and accommodation change as we travelled through the country. But if I have to highlight one person above everyone else, it has to be Steven Schumacher, our “small boss” 😂. I honestly don’t think we could have had a better companion for this trip. As a driver, he is incredible. He managed to take us along some roads that, to be honest, I’m not sure should even be called roads 😂, and he did it with incredible skill, patience and, above all, safety. I never felt unsafe, even on the most challenging journeys. As a guide, he was fantastic too. Always alert to every animal, making sure we didn’t miss anything and always happy to explain everything we were seeing. But what I will remember most about Steven is the person he is. He was warm, funny, polite, incredibly attentive and always so caring towards us. We had some great conversations, lots of laughs and many moments that we’ll probably remember for a very long time. And in the end, that’s what makes a trip go from being simply a good trip to becoming a truly special one. Steven, thank you for taking such good care of us, for your patience, the conversations, the laughs and for making sure that even after hours on the road, we still felt ready for another adventure. 😂 It was a real pleasure having you as our driver, guide and travel companion. Our “small boss” has definitely earned a special place in our memories of Uganda. ❤️ And thank you to the whole NGONI Safaris team for organising this trip and making everything run so smoothly. I’m leaving Uganda with incredible memories, thousands of photos, a few sore muscles after the trekking 😂 and, above all, the feeling that I’ve had a truly wonderful experience. Excellent planning by the team for this comprehensive multi day itinerary. Everything went very well as planned. We started with rhino and waterfalls in murchison , then did game drive in murchison where we spotting all wild animals that can be seen for 4 hours and then waterfalls. It also included guided tour near waterfalls for additional information. We had a good stay in Kibale and did a nature walk / culture tour. Chimpanzee tracking in Kibale and gorilla tracking in Bwindi went very well. Finally 1 night stay in lake bunyoni kept me relaxed. Overall , great trip organized by Ngoni team.

Winter was great! He showed up the night before our safari and introduced himself. He was kind and took great care of my daughter and I and made extra effort everyday to make us feel comfortable.

I spent 1 week around Uganda parks, and NGONI organized all things perfectly! Scheduling was arranged in the better way, and accomodations were always amazing and very confortable. Our guide and driver David managed in excelent way all situations, and he was very helpful in many occasions! During the planning of the tour, Sedrick, the Ngoni Safaris owner, was always quick to answer any questions and provide any clarifications requested. If I will be back to Uganda, I surely will contact again NGONI! And I surely recommend NGONI to everyone wants to explore Uganda! I think that NGONI Safaris and its personnel are They are a guarantee of seriousness, professionalism and attention to the customer! Thank you NGONI!

Anyone who has followed us on social networks or on the blog for longer, knows that we always do everything completely independently, on our own, and hate guided activities. We only use guide services when it is forbidden to do the program without guide. But sometimes we study a particular destination and end up concluding that buying the 'package' has a better cost-benefit than doing the trip on your own - it was like that in Tanzania, for example, and in Uganda/Rwandan it was like that. So we hired @ngonisafaris to organize our trip through Uganda and Rwanda and Sedrick, owner of the agency, chose guide/driver Charles to go with us. I will tell all the details of this trip on the blog later, but I want to record here that Charles was simply PERFECT! We have no complaints about him, on the contrary, only compliments! The guy is quiet, gave us space and, at the same time, did ALL for us, gave us great tips, gave us all the important information, found lions, suggested optional tours, stopped for all the dozens of photos I asked to take, got last minute permits when we changed our mind, bought sleeves and green banana salts for us to try and never, at any time, was boring or inconvenient. For you to have an idea, even Peg, who has the patience even shorter than mine, found Charles great! If one day you decide to copy and paste this trip, try to get Charles as your guide! Spending days stuck with the same guide can be hell if the guy is inconvenient - and we don't have enough words to praise both the work of Sedrick, the owner of the agency, who delivered 101% of what he promised, and Charles 👌 As for Sedrick, it is worth saying that we requested several changes to the original schedule and he 'customized' the standard schedule that the agency offered to leave it exactly as we wanted (including some tours, excluding others, changing some hotels, etc). Tips: arrange everything in writing, by WhatsApp or by email, before making the payment (we pay 50% about 2 months before the trip and the other 50% when we arrive in Kampala, directly to Sedrick) - what is included and what is not, leave everything combined. We had NO problem with this, they delivered everything that was combined. As for drinks: all drinks you order in restaurants, will be on your own, even if you ask for water. The agency supplies bottled water daily in the car (and many hotels also leave water in the rooms). Important: Remember to always have plenty of money exchanged in the local currency for chips - they do not accept U$ bills if they are not very new - any scratch or crack is a reason to refuse U$ bills.

In May 2022 and June 2024 I had amazing safari trips with Ngoni Safaris. The first one solo, the second one with my husband. Yes, I enjoyed my first trip with guide Jamal so much that I booked a second trip, 2 years later. :) The trip was well organized by Ngoni. Sedrick (the main contact person) was very helpful and always replied very quickly. Both my first guide Jamal and our second guide David were excellent. With their good eyes, they spotted the big cats (lions and leapards) hidden in the grass or tree. They were very good company, and also flexible and accomodating to our preferences. If there would be a third time, I would definitely consider Ngoni safaris again.

This was one of the best trip I have ever did so far. It started with a warm welcome by my driver and guide James. I always felt safe and welcome as a female solo traveller and can relly recommend it to everyone.
