Miriam was just lovely. We went to Newgrange, the Hill of Slane, and Monasterboice. It was a fantastic way to start off our trip.
The private car was meticulous and comfortable. Jim was an amazing guide, knew everything about Dublin and its surrounding areas and the history of all sites we visited. He accommodated changes to our itinerary to suit what we wanted to see most, and created the perfect day. He was clearly proud of his heritage, and made the day very enjoyable. Thank you Jim for your knowledge and hospitality. - Luiz, Ryan, and Colin.
Thank you so much Luiz, Ryan and Colin for this lovely review. We’re delighted to hear you enjoyed the comfort of the private car and that Jim’s knowledge of Dublin and the surrounding areas helped make it a perfect day for you. He’ll be thrilled to know his pride in Irish history and heritage came through, and that the flexible itinerary worked so well for what you most wanted to see. Thanks again for choosing Touristy. You’re always welcome back for another adventure with Jim. I'll send our regards. Again thank you for the kind words. Bradley.
We had an amazing day with David touring the Bonye Valley. I was unable to secure tickets to Newgrange prior to the tour as they were sold out online, but David recommended we arrive at opening to see if there were any cancellations for the day and there were! The tickets were for noon, so he reconfigured our tour and took us to the Hill of Tara and an Bective Abbey and was an endless fountain of knowledge on both! When we returned to Newgrange we were in awe of the history and engineering- so glad we did not miss this! I cannot say enough about what a joy it was to have David as our tour guide. Between the rain for most of the day and not having advance tickets to Newgrange it could have been a disappointing day, but our tour far exceeded our expectations. Thank you David for an unforgettable experience and the true pleasure of your company for the day. We are grateful.
Hey Gretchen, Amazing. We're delighted to hear you had a good day with Dave and that you took our advice to start early and get to the entrance for opening and secure some cancellation tickets. Thank you for noting how flexible and accompanying Dave. He's an amazing guide and very good at customising the day to your needs and interests. We're really happy to hear you had a good day with Dave. It means the world to us. Slán Go Fóill, Bradley
Our driver, Eddie, was great! He had lots of interesting stories to tell He picked us up on time and took us to the sites we were most interested to see. All in all, it was a very enjoyable day.
Our driver, Paul, was excellent! He was extremely flexible and was very patient with my wife who has bad knees and must take it slowly. We would highly recommend this tour to anyone wanting to see the Hill of Tara & Newgrange. HOWEVER, WARNING - When we originally booked the tour, the tour company did not make it clear that we needed to book tickets for Newgrange on our own. Normally tours take care of all of that, so by the time we found out, everything was sold out. If not for this, I would have given 5 Stars.
Hi Terry, Thank you so much for your lovely feedback about Paul. We’re delighted to hear you enjoyed your day and that Paul made the experience comfortable and flexible for you both. He’ll be very happy to hear your kind words! We really appreciate your note about the Newgrange tickets. We completely understand the disappointment when those sell out. Just to clarify, we do mention this twice on our tour page. Once in the “What’s Excluded” section and again in the “Additional Notes” section but unfortunately Viator removes this information whenever we try to include it in the main overview area or description area of the listing. We also include the same notes again on the Viator ticket emailed to you once the booking is confirmed, to try and make it as clear as possible. Because access to Newgrange is managed directly by the OPW, tickets are released automatically at midnight (Irish time) 30 days in advance, so we’re unable to reserve them on behalf of guests booking through Viator. When guests book directly with us, we can handle this part personally as an added service and help secure chamber entry whenever possible. On the day, Paul also suggested a visit to the beautiful Fourknocks passage tomb. A very special site with private key access available only through local guides who obtain the key from a local lady but we completely understand you preferred to keep to your original plan and pass on this opportunity. Thank you again for recommending the tour and for taking the time to share your experience. We continually work to improve our processes whenever we identify any areas that could be clearer for guests. We’re sometimes at the mercy of the platform’s own rules and must simply work within them, even when they limit what information we can share. Warm regards, Bradley & The Touristy Team.
Knoth is great, Newgrange is cool to be able to go inside but otherwise not so exciting; well organized crew - a bit stressful and a pity i did not have enough time gor museum which is done beautifully! our driver and guide Noel was wonderful as he got us tickets into Newgrange tour and was very nice and provided additional info on historical context. Hill of Slane was beautiful and suggested by Noel.
Knowth and Newgrange were so interesting! Our guide Miriam was fantastic! She kept us entertained all day with stories and history. She had great options to fill our time after Newgrange. Great day trip!
Our tour guide Miriam was exceptional! Under her skillful guidance, everything about this tour went seamlessly. Very knowledgeable about the Neolithic sites we visited and the extra side trip to Fourknocks was a real treat! We highly recommend this tour!
Miriam was a wonderful guide for the day, taking us to the New Grange tour as well as a local farm. We enjoyed our tour!
