The 5-Day Amazon Rainforest Exploration begins in Iquitos, Peru. It focuses on observing wildlife in the Amazon rainforest, learning about medicinal plants, jungle survival, and learning about the way of life of Amazonian Communities. If you are lucky, our jungle guide may spot anacondas, giant otters and jaguar footprint during the excursions. You will have a Full Day and Survival in the primary jungle, you will enter the pristine and remote Amazon jungle of the Tamshiyacu - Tahuayo Reserve. You will explore the Amazon Rainforest with our jungle guides (private) to observe birds (there are more than 500 types of birds in our area), pink and gray dolphins, sloths, caimans, capybaras, monkeys (there are more than 10 species in our area), frogs, snakes, giant trees and medicinal plants. It is one of the best excursions for lovers of wildlife, birdwatching and photography.
Curassow is only accessible by our private transports. Our transfer leaves Iquitos to the Lodge every day at 9:30 AM. And return from the Lodge to Iquitos after lunch between 1:30 to 2:00 PM. Arriving in Iquitos at approximately 4:00 PM. To comply with this itinerary, you must be in Iquitos before 9:00 AM. and for your last day your flight must depart from Iquitos after 6:00 PM. Our new route by land and speedboat allows us to transport travelers who arrive in Iquitos until before 2 PM. If you have flights outside the time of our private transfers, just let us know to schedule an extra transportation without additional charges.

Had an amazing 5D / 4N stay. We wanted to stay for 5 days to see as many animals possible & Curassow did not disappoint! Each day filled with different activities; boat rides, jungle walk, swam in the Amazon, piranha fishing, canoeing & night exploring. We saw so much more animals than we thought we would Our guide Flavio & driver Jeremy were incredible. Very friendly, knowledgeable & it’s unbelievable how well they spotted the animals. They definitely made the experience unforgettable. I loved how passionate they were about the jungle & how much they enjoyed their jobs & growing up in the Amazon. Chef made delicious food & Caesar (bartender) makes the best pisco sour The lodge itself was great, deep into the jungle to fully immerse; spacious dining / lounge area & comfortable rooms I will reccomend this tour to anyone & everyone. My 5 days in the Peruvian Amazon with Curassow went very well! I totally recommend this agency. The lodge is located in a protected reserve and respects animal species, as well as the working conditions of employees. Welcoming is indisputable, Caesar, in the lodge, as well as guides will meet your needs. The lodge is very comfortable and has the necessary. The meals are hearty and balanced. The guides (Flavio and Fernando) were excellent and know the surroundings very well. They offered me a personalized tour according to my desires. You can ask to organize the activities according to your preferences and this feature of Curassow is not common in other agencies, where group tours take precedence.

Definitely make Curassow part of your plans to visit the jungle!! Great way to experience the Amazonian jungle! Curassow picked us up from the airport in an air-conditioned van and took us through the city of Iquitos to a speedboat that took us up the Amazon River. Curassow is located off one of its tributaries somewhat near a couple remote villages. A smaller motorized boat was used to travel to/from the lodge for various excursions or village visits. The employees were always so helpful in assisting everyone on and off the boats. The lodge itself if very neat and well kept, with fresh sheets and towels in the rooms. The common space houses a large table for eating meals as well as hammocks and outdoor couches for lounging. This space is a great way to converse with other guests and meet new people staying at the lodge from around the world with such amazing experiences! Enclosed with screens that prevent bugs, it is especially peaceful at night where it cools off or during night time rains. Various dishes are served for all three meals. Tea and coffee are always available, and the chef does such a great job serving fresh and plentiful food! The staff is so kind, and does their best to make your experience in the Amazon everything you hope it will be! Excursions and jungle walks are so accessible. All activities can be tailored to your activity preferences. The wildlife is absolutely incredible, and all the guides are so knowledgeable at spotting different nuances or hiding creatures! We spent a good amount of time at the local villages and with the people who live there. These villages are accessible by boat from Curassow, and it is amazing to meet such good and hardworking people! There are several projects occurring to help these people earn educations and live healthier lives, and Curassow plays a large role in helping make these projects possible!

I spent a wonderful 5days at this lodge and had an amazing experience. The excursions were really good and Mr Leo was a very knowledgable guide. Also the rest of the staff go all the way to make it a happy stay. Rooms are basic and there is no wifi, which could put off some travellers, but didn't mind me at all. Although I really could have done with a warm shower now and then :).

We were in Iquitos last August and had already booked the 5-day trip into the jungle with accommodation at Currasow Lodge. As planned, we were picked up at the hotel and received by our expedition leader Leo at the lodge office in Iquitos. From there we went to the boat dock, from where we started the exciting trip with the speedboat up the Amazon to the lodge. Together with another couple, Leo remained our caretaker for the whole time and was able to convince not only with his perfect English, but above all with his incredible experiences and knowledge of the jungle, its wildlife and plants. We had daily full program with various tours, on foot or by boat from the lodge. We were usually accompanied not only by Leo, but also by another local employee, so you always felt safe and well looked after. In between, however, you also had time to rest a bit, whereby the supervisors were always available during this time, and e.g. have made music for the guests. The accommodation in its own cabins was well maintained but spartan as it fits into the jungle. The food was top and all the staff were super friendly and laid up for fun at all times. In the evenings, you can sit down with other guests and play with a cool drink or cocktail or exchange experiences of the day. The cooperation with the American aid organization to support a local village is also exciting and the trip there gave a very interesting insight into real life in the jungle. All in all, we had an unforgettable time, got to know many great people and above all we were able to experience the jungle with all its diversity. We will not forget the great wildlife observations and excursions. So if you can do without luxury and would like to get to know the jungle, the trips with the Currasow Lodge are definitely recommended.
